She was definitely trying to capture Alibaba and Aladdin. She definitely had a moment when she imagined herself being free but she still had that mentality of being a slave so she was just following orders. You see how strong she is but Jamil still has a strong hold on her so she wouldn't just escape like that.

I always interpreted it the other way, especially considering what comes next but I always forget about Aladdin saying something like, "Come see me when your invisible chains are gone." implying that those chains are absolutely still there. I forgot how much I enjoyed this anime and Manga, a small part of me wishes everyone was a few shades darker in skin tone since it's basically Arabian Nights the anime- it's a bit jarring with some of the names, but that's not a deal breaker at all.

Fun fact: Morgiana and her people, the Fanalis, were originally supposed to be much darker, representative of their obvious real-world inspirations. I wouldn't have minded too much considering that they're depicted positively and that they're unjustly discriminated against, but I could certainly see why editors might have insisted they be changed in order to avoid any potential problematic elements

It's my understanding that the author wanted to make Morgiana and her people black, but she was concerned that the animalistic heritage and portrayal of her people may have come off as a racist stereotype. Although considering their heritage, I imagine that the wild red hair was always going to be a part of their look. They just would've had dark skin instead of light skin. I don't know if her concerns were overblown, but a part of me feels like it was a missed opportunity.

Yall trippin. His hair is purple. His hair changes color based on what Djinn equip he's using. Since he uses Baal the most he'll often be seen with blue hair but it's much different from his normal hair which is why it shouldn't be confusing
