Japanese schools don't have janitors (at least, not in the same sense as western schools). That's why these Japanese high school shows will often mention that a character isn't around because they had to stay after school for cleaning duty. Sports teams have to mow their own fields and shit, too. In some cases, they even make the students run minor repairs on the school building, like fixing doors and shit (in Fate, Shirou was the one who got dumped with all that kind of stuff).

...So now can we finally let this stupid "budget" meme die already? The quality of Japanimation NEVER had anything to do with the budget of production. Want an example? Wit Studio's adaptation of AoT has been praised for its sequences of cameras viewpoints following 2D characters moving around smoothly within 3D environments. These sequences have been done by an assistant who was paid peanuts for a salary. He wasn't even hired for these sequences, and yet he did it anyway, because he was passionated. In the Japanese industry, the details of the animation have nothing to do with money, since all animators are paid like shit anyway (you have no idea how broke they are), it has to do with the level of skills of the people working on it at the moment.

I can only speculate, but they traditionally only do two duo shows a week (4 episodes total). Komi and Kaguya just happened to get new seasons at the same time, so they were forced to pick them up on top of their normal two shows, so they were up to 6 episodes a week. That's probably why when Bunny Girl ended, they didn't bother polling for a replacement since they were already at their normal 4 episodes a week. So I assume once Komi ends, they'll go back to just Veritas + one new show. It may be Monogatari or they may be waiting for Vertias to end for that one.

I think the "progression" is the exact problem with it. Their relationship progresses so fast that it devolves into a standard slice of life series within a few episodes, then just spends the next 100 chapters spinning its wheels with "aww, aren't they cute together?" moments.

I'm almost certain people just see red when talking about it due to the premise.

Definitely need 'Love After World Domination' and 'Don't Toy With Me Miss Nagatoro' in the running on the next poll for duo reacts! The former is incredibly fun and I know Roshi and Sheera would love it, the latter got the bronze medal against the likes of all time greats like Toradora in that poll, so I know there is support for such an a fire romcom, commonly thought of as Spring 2021's best anime on the online community and for good reason! (Also Nagatoro season 2 is coming soon, so now would be a good time to get on that goodness~)

Nagatoro is considered the best anime of the Spring 2021? really, Vivy? 86? To Your Eternity? Where do you put them? Even Love after world domination is a bit better than Nagatoro, who has become famous simply for the character of Nagatoro, and the fan service that is shown via all female characters shown to us practically every episode. I apologize anyway if I may have seemed aggressive but this is my opinion on anime that even if they are nothing special, becoming famous for hype or for some characters, "obscure" in quotes, anime that deserve more popularity and attention from people. Ah and of course I'm talking about the anime not your opinion, everyone has their own tastes that are different between people.

No, you're fine, my friend. You're not coming off as aggressive, more defensive than anything, like I personally insulted you in some way or you didn't like what I said because you personally disagree rather than looking at it objectively, but I get what you were going for. So, like you acknowledged in your response about "obscure" anime, I was going by the pure numbers of the time, of which show that Nagatoro was one of the most watched shows of that season. I did not personally say I found it to be the best anime of Spring 2021, but that it was a common opinion, and despite you not liking it, the quality of the show comes through regardless of opinion. Vivy was and will go down as an indisputable classic for the years to come, and while I personally found 86 to be run of the mill considering I'm long in the tooth when it comes to anime (and the light novel of 86 is LEAGUES better than the anime by far) I understand that it is many people's only exposure to the story and I understand why it's held in such high regards. To Your Eternity is one that I acknowledge is objectively better than Nagatoro, but I subjective enjoyed Nagatoro more, but for various and different reasons to each other. To try and compare the two would be obtuse and trying to be self-serving in an argument like this. It's not something that is either here nor there. I acknowledge all of those shows for their strengths and entertainment value, and I appreciate that you want to spread awareness of them, but they will get seen eventually by Roshi and the crew, as they were, and shows like them will inevitably end up on the reaction rotation. But deserving shows like Nagatoro aren't guaranteed to do that because people like you and the replies above speak down on it and try mask your distaste with comments like "my opinion is such and such", it comes off overly and unfairly negative and drags down the chances of a fun show being seen by people who we all know would have fun with it, just because we don't want to see it or some weak excuse like that. If you don't want to watch something on their lineup, you don't have to click on it. But don't try and disguise open dislike and attempts to sabotage gang's opinion on something before they have even seen just because you think it's a show of "hype" or "blatant fan service" or whatever. Just admit you didn't like it WITHOUT trying take down others who did. If you didn't get it, fine. If you didn't like it, that's fine too. But let people like things and let the little guys have their chance in the sun. I hope you can understand what I'm saying here and I hope you have a fine rest of your day.

Guys a few weeks ago the anime adaptation of Oshi No Ko was announced, a manga that is truly incredible and that only in the first 10 chapters, which are the prologue, makes you crazy, when the anime will be released, probably Summer / Autumn 2023, I recommend you do the reaction, together with Lupa of course. For those who are waiting for the anime, wait for it, but for those who are curious, I highly recommend reading the first 10 chapters, and you will not regret it. It is done by the same author as Kaguya Sama.
