From what I've seen so far I think it's pretty much implied that they are being sponsored by the national team of Japan (or whoever owns them), hence the red head chick's meetings with the baldy discussing Ego and Bluelock. So, part of the deal could be agreeing to blacklist individuals. They could go to another country's team and represent them in the World Cup but never for Japan (manga readers correct me if I'm wrong). Also, to your second point I think it's possible the show just skipped past those smaller details bc i highly doubt they just left from the building in the first ep and got on the bus there lol

>>96080761

They literally stated during that press conference that the players and parents did sign consent forms.

JayFazo

LITERALLY just finished the episode to kill some time because I was waiting to watch it with ya. Episode was fye.

Ougi

isagi is literally him

Nicole Guerrero

The animation is so dope, especially for the monster

Cheesecake

Yeah? That description makes so much sense that I had a stroke reading it and got reincarnated then time traveled back to write this comment

Julius

The caption for this episode sounds like some strange poem.🤣

wavyesper

Hey Bachira, how are you so good? Bachira: demons man

Kadeem Reeves

That’s probably the best description I’ve heard RE: this show up to this point

Mozart Waddell

Just seen your Dead Space video on YouTube. Massive congrats to you and Sheera receiving that opportunity. Here's to many more to come 🥂

Devin B

Isagi definitely needs that level up cause ven after all that training he's still ranked second to last

Dirty dan

The king makes his appearance

Infinity

the ultimate 5head play with bluelock is if they took the losers to a seperate training program in the building after they all pissed off and angsty and prepped them as the final test.

Ronnie

Bachira reminds me of Suzuya from Tokyo Ghoul. His mannerisms at least

Jose
>>93858157

bro i thought the same thing, something to bring back the dude from last episode who was all about the team and came to prove the head of bluelock wrong about being selfish

Cameron Robinson

That finally shot with them in the hallway was cool, smooth and had great music

Omar Bautista

Why do I feel like the person who wrote this story was so fed up on how Japan ran their team they just wrote bluelock to rant thier frustration. "JAPAN JUST GET A GOOD STRIKER LIKE MESSI OR RONALDO OR NEYMAR"

HIM

After looking more into the Japan national team and how 2018 went down for them, this anime and story just become even more incredible. They choked away a 2-0 halftime lead to Belgium, losing 3-2 on a literal last-minute shot at the end. That's what the newspaper in the beginning was about. CAN YOU BELIEVE they were SO hurt by that loss that the manga released it's very first chapter only 30 days after this loss happened? Lol, the message is heartfelt, to say the least. We are witnessing something special here, folks! I always maintained the idea that I'd raise my kid starting them off with Naruto as early as possible, and NOW I have a second anime to add to that list. THIS ANIME RIGHT HERE NIGGA... It's literally going to change the world (of sports) for the better. A little baseball anime by the name of "Major" inspired a kid to grow up and become the best TWO-WAY player the sport has ever seen. That kid is Shohei Ohtani, if you've ever heard of him (There is an interview where he specifically mentions the anime and it's MC as one of his main inspirations). THIS ANIME... This anime, if it only inspired a handful of kids, or college players teetering on the edge, or even a semi-pro guy trying to make it pro, it would still be a huge blessing to the sports world. Kids are gonna watch this and fall in love early-on with a concept most people of the past never lived to understand. Bachira said he has that "Monster" in him. That's funny, because I thought it was a typo and that he said he had that "Mamba" in him! lol (RIP24/8) Anyways, like I said, if this only inspired 5 kids in Japan to grow up with a Superstar mentality in Soccer, the world is a better place for it having existed. It honestly reminds me a bit of Iskandar from Fate/Zero and his philosophy of being a king. It's so radically different from what we are typically taught that it sounds ludicrous... But then it sinks in! lol

Erica Collins

Nah Kira's a better person than me. I for sure would've had to fight isagi after that ball got kicked in my face hard af lol call me a sore loser but I wouldn't let that slide 😂

Chocobo

Im hype for this show to turn in the next best sports anime (after haikyuu obviously.)

Devin B

I can't feel bad about Kira getting kicked out cause he only came to try and prove that the blue lock system was wrong. I would not risk my soccer career just to prove a point.

Mari

Magi?

Drake Rage

The dude yelling at them on the treadmill had Inosuke's voice (from Demon Slayer), lmao. Love hearing him taunt and laugh with that voice.

godUsoland

Nah, Cornbeef and Rice be HITTING! Toss in some Cabbage and a couple Scotch Bonnets and I will devour a whole pot of it real quick.

godUsoland

"I've got a Monster in me" = "I've got that Dawg in me"

DatKid_Kaneki
>>93859810

nah fr dumbass thought he was him😹 once i looked into that room i would’ve dipped mfs was looking wicked

PolishWizard

>>93861475

not to mention it's pretty clear that like ... these rankings are dynamic. they will obviously change

godUsoland

The 'Royale' Club mentioned that Sae is a part of is 'Real Madrid'. Just like Jojo, they gotta worry about Copyright

Love

Bachira reminds me of Kazutora from Tokyo Revengers

Smash Bran'Discootch

Bachira reminds me of the guy from Tokyo Revengers that kept blaming everything on Mikey.

SWAGxMAGICIAN

Araragi's voice actor voices Ego btw

Will Jones

I just got to thinking what if "Team Z" really isn't the worst? What if "Team Z" has the greatest potential, and Ego intentionally said they were the worst to force the best player to rise to the surface from their group by making them have to face everyone to earn their actual ranks.

Mari
>>93861267

Nah, just leave it as it is, oysters for me ruin the taste

Callum Murphy

You know this story is good when the manga is one of Hajime Isayamas (aot author) favourite manga and in an interview he recommended this manga to everyone

WindyCannabis

Just for reference it is actually quite difficult to go and play for another country. You can only play for a nation that you have nationality in technically you could go through a citizenship process but that often takes years to complete and the prime of most players is from 18 to 28 years old with a world cup only happening every 4 years. So the notion of playing for another country would almost guarantee to take away one of your two prime chances for a World Cup team.

koma guy

Perhaps lupa was talking about juzo from tokyo ghoul

Bader

yo patreon player is trash even if i change to different browsers

Lil Uzi Vert

Lupa, the guy Bachira reminded you of is Kazutora from Tokyo Revengers

Dune

I want them to say Messi and Ronaldo every episode

ok

9:28 his vert is actually pretty damn impressive

Jermaine Johnstone

The funniest thing about the Messi, Ronaldo and Neymar comparisons is that none of them have won the World Cup

Zexceed

damn sport squid games without the debt and death

L.C.

It looks like a good series but its cringe and overly serious

luis delgado

this is really good now we just need to add Hajime no Ippo to the wait list

ok
>>93855889

nah it was necessary i didnt read the caption and at the end there i literally commented "everyone there is him guys" then deleted it when i saw roshi used his future sight haki on me

john segun doe

LUPAAAA!!!! That character reminds you of the one dude on Tokyo Revengers that went insane and hated Mikey

Orlando

i had a fucking stroke trying to read that caption but aye the ending song was dope asf

Zee Wrld

If you noticed, they said teams B-Z I believe that all the ones that failed are going to be placed in the A team.

Fedei

So just a little clarification about what Ego said soccer/football started with strikers. Obviously the sports started with people just trying to kick a ball and score a goal. That's it, later on it evolves to different positions/placements like defenders, wings, midfielders and keepers. Also, fun fact, when the kid (the one who didn't want to paly for Japan) said no one is worthy of his pass, it kinda make sense to the series. His a midfielder, and most football players know that means his position basically sets the forwards/strikers to score, they're like the brains of the field. However, we know that Japan struggle with good strikers, that's why he doesn't like to play for them, cause they cannot keep up with him or maybe can't finish the job. But yeah love the reactions, cannot wait for the next one King Barou

Oax Al

Don't know if people have mentioned this already but in Cuba, at least back in the day, they had a pretty spartan level system similar to the blue lock premis. Except the selection process took a decade or more. Athletically gifted kids would be scouted by the national coaches at a really young age. The kids would be put in an academy where how good you live is based off of how high you are ranked. Food, housing, and even how many people where at your lunch table, was based off of how high you ranked. The system was designed to make the kids purely see each other as competition. And no one really complained because their families where getting better lives and even the lowest tier kids still where living it up compared to the rest of the populace. My only source is Yoel Romero an Olympic medalist, Cuban wrestler turned mma fighter. He described this system in a podcast with Joey Diaz.

Argo2Unitard

This whole series is the plot of that Boondocks dodgeball episode.

Expectr

Yall gotta remember that this ranking was based on eigo's arbitrary and biased decision so who knows who is actually the best

Dragonfire
>>93861619

the funny thing is, in the german sub they translated it as "real". So only the english sub has copyright issues.

Victor
>>93862211

It could be, but we need to see how well they play with team X to get more information about these players.

MWS

kira wasnt bad, Ego just didnt like him because they have conflicting ideals remember he always talks about his bias selection

Ben
>>93867752

lol how is 60 cm an impressive standing vert thats only 23 inches

A1_MiLFshAkE

Alright so here are some references from the real world in Bluelock: - Noel Noa, the striker Isagi's idol is based on Robert Lewandowski. The reason Noel is of French nationality is because the manga was written in 2018 France also won the Fifa world cup in 2018. - Itoshi Sae is based on Japan's biggest prodigy Takefusa Kubo. It was 2018 when the contents of this episode were written in the manga. Kubo was a Real Madrid player in 2018-19 season but he never really played for them. After a hand full of loan spells at fellow Spanish clubs, Kubo was recently (in 2022) sold to Real Sociedad, another big Spanish club (although not as big & prestigious as Real Madrid). Kubo generally plays as a winger/attacking mid. - The female character leading the press conference Teieri Anri's name is similar to French legendary forward Thierry henry.

Adamantite Momon
>>93859223

well 2018 loss was more about defending the lead..the forwards did their job..but well belgium threw in fellaini and started pouring in crosses..not to mention Lukaku, KDB etc are physically giant compared to japanese player so the long balls were due to go in at some point of time

Esperance Adzem

I don't think you can join another country unless you become a citizen there. most players, even though they played for different have to go back to their native country for the world cup. it's more fun that way I think.

Zion Williams

Dawg if these niggas are z rank them a rank niggas gotta be playing for planet vegeta or som

HIM
>>93859223

Yeah lol I was looking at the rosters and it looked like the average heights were about 5'8 for Japan and about 6'2 for Belgium lol. I'm not well-versed in Futbol, of course, but even I thought that sounded like a disadvantage. Are you saying Ego is wrong and should focus more on beefing up Japan's daily diet and exercise routine instead?!?!? Lol jk :P

Kameron Renae
>>93921343

Right I was watching like, If they’re Z then team B are like Gods. Like kuroko’s basketball generation of miracles stupid.

Antares

nobody in their quadrant is the worst there, his ranking are biased as well, and well... youll find out soon enough

Antares
>>93858191

hair wise hes similar to kuga i guess but his personality almost perfectly aligns with juuzo, both are loose cannons

Ky Williams
>>93921343

ok
>>93925106

Argo2Unitard
>>93925106

Anyone who reads this, stop leaving comments like this. Implied spoilers are still spoilers. If you can't talk about a series without hinting at the future of it, don't leave the comment.

Killian

i wish they said fuck off instead of lock off like in the manga LMAO

QuitaMa

There is another soccer show called aoashi . That one is pretty good to

Reckless Company

he makes a point if you the best u get the best stuff if your last u get the trash stuff so win and rank up i respect that

Sugoi_Boi__

The kid talking about having a monster inside him reminds me of Juuzou from Tokyo Ghoul, maybe that’s who Lupa was thinking of too?

Brandon Rodgers

Am I the only one getting deadman wonderland vibes from this

Neeko
>>94386751

I thought the same thing! It gives me the same wholesome yet eerie vibe.

YungZeus

“I feel like I’m about to go berserk” headass

slipHAZARD

This man said "There's a monster inside me" and Sheera doesn't say shiz? 😮😮😮 She's literally made sexual innuendos and dirty jokes involving babies..... I've heard her say "That's what she said" more times just watching their reactions today then I heard in all of junior/high school. And yet "There's a monster inside me" gets nothing..... I think I need to go lay down.....

Rot

What strikes me as weird is; How can this suddenly-formed organization remove a person's right to participate in the World Cup? Shouldn't there be consent forms for this signed by both the player(s) and the parents? Its true that the board of Sports and such are involved in it, but it strikes me as weird that they were just given a brief mention of "If you're removed you wont participate in the World Cup anymore" ( everyone acted surprised so I doubt they signed papers ) and it somehow holds merit.
