I wouldn't really say they forgot guys. It was loosely glanced over in season 1 as a passing, thought. It held no story relevance when it was stated, so I'm sure they didn't think too hard about it. Just let them realize how deep Magi has gotten on their own.

Idk if it's too early to recommend shows, but highly recommend yall watch mobile suit gundam: the witch from mercury. BIG REMINDER: there's a prologue episode on YT that happens before episode 1. I've never been huge on Gundam stuff, but wow. The music, the story, the 2D MECHS, and the emotions invoked. Hit hard. And you being a dad to young girls, this prologue will hit you hard I'm sure

Yes, it is. They mentioned but only showed peter pan for a quick few seconds at the very end of season 1. They are in the openings, roshi and the crew doesn't know who they are since it wasn't directly mentioned when they appeared. It's a spoiler because they haven't been called or acknowledged as magi in the anime by characters yet at this point If my memory is correct.
