Most of the voice acting in dub for this is decent. Mostly the main ppl. Some side and supporting characters are a bit cringe, though. Also the main antagonist is pretty meh, imo.

In terms of acting talent itself, Japanese still wins, imo. In terms of the world and the slang that comes with it, I give it to dub. Japanese is just more pleasant to listen to for me personally. I did go back and forth a lot for the first few eps lmao

Best dub in quite a while. Everyone plays their emotions really well, wide variety in accent, diction, personality, tambre, dialectics, even language in small parts. A good english dub is objectively the best way to watch anything, because you get the full suite of what voice talent can do. Sadly, most dubs are mid at best. This one is going in the hall of fame for me dawg. I have a sneaking suspicion about sub elitists, considering I used to be one; They gotta be the most kinda pretentious, assuming they can even accurately idenfity the emotional nuances of a language they don't even understand. Prolly why most people just think whatever they watched first is best. You get attached. Guess I'm hooked on this tho, frfr.

I gotta say the game is pretty good now. Most of the bugs are fixed, nothing game breaking in my experience. They added some of the features they promised. It's way better then it was at launch. I'd say it's a 7/10.

Each one is an explanation of slang or speech used in cyberpunk that may come up. For instance the beginning of the ep talks about a Brain Dance (Virtual Reality Memory or Recording from a first person perspective) and how the dude got zeroed. They seemed confused on what he was watching cause the language used to describe what took place is something you'd only be familiar with if you'd played the games.

Actually I retract not being certain and changing it to him possibly being on the spectrum with the exact reasons I said. His environment also makes me more confident in it and that he's high functioning. These things are real for tons of people and a lot aren't aware of it. Watch what you want, but the usual argument for subs is that it takes place in Japan so watch it in Japanese and that doesn’t apply here since it takes place in America, specifically California. Yeah, this dub is pretty good but it's kinda like great pretender for me. It includes a ton of international cultures, accents and slang which is way easier to translate to us with dub voice actors. And some of the dub voice actors are absolutely fantastic. But damn the sub voice actors absolutely nail it when it comes to the visceral moments/screams of the show, whereas it sometimes sounds flatter/monotone in dub. So basically, pick what u care more about. The multicultural aspect of the setting, or the best possible voice acting for some scenes.

That 1st scene was not just a transition. In the Cyberpunk universe, they call that a BD. It is a VR experience from the point of view of a real person often. That was him experiencing that guy go psychosis, then the transition brought an end to the BD(vr experience), and then the extra sex scene was just the additional BD that David's dealer gave him on the house. They got that 1st BD experience from the real guy's head, well, the leftovers.
