lmaooo Lupa with that random ass Elmer comment i cant

Mozart Waddell

Old master was dropping those nuggets of wisdom on Einar and Thorfinn. He low-key told them you can be content with $100M you don't really need a $1B

William kimura

Yall wrong about EVERY single prediction in this video 😭😂 Shit is actually mad funny

Jordan

Yeah the time skips are like a couple months sometimes and the show just doesn’t show it but thorfinns around 19 still I believe

ogking31

That quote by Sverkel was deep.

L.C.

Besides the background scenes, which were dope af of course, did anyone else feel off about this episode and the lack of detail and some lack of animation it had. Multiple shots had a lack of face detail that could have been done if they wanted to. Just in general it felt off.

Brian

Someones gotta say it. This season Is severely lacking compared to S1. Show turning into Farmland Saga is dissapointing

Theo Vorster

For those who are interested in reading along with the manga, this episode adapted the entirety of chapters 63 to 65. In regards to the passage of time (the manga is more explicit about the dates) by the end of this episode it’s supposed to be October 1015, so about a month or two has passed since the last episode with Thorfinn and Einar (i.e. episode 4). Also another important thing to keep in mind, the King that Ketil pays tribute to annually is King Harald, who is Canute's older brother and King of Denmark (the King that Canute ousted in the previous episode was Æthelred (and his son Edmund)). Canute and Harald basically split the Danish crown's responsibilities between themselves after Sweyn's death. With Canute taking control of the English campaign and crown, while Harald inherited the responsibilities of governing mainland Denmark. And something important to clarify about Canute’s role/importance in the Vinland Saga series, while Canute still has a significant role to play in this arc/Season 2, he’s not as significant to the narrative as Thorfinn is (or Einar arguably). And after this arc/Season 2, Canute’s presence in the series will decrease significantly. Also interesting to see how this episode incorporated some of the cut manga dialogue of chapter 60 (which was what episode 4 adapted) into the last scene of this episode (where Einar states he and Thorfinn are friends).

Ginger Dwarf

Today Roshi and Sheena learned where Glue comes from.

Skurp

I’d have to disagree my brother, this is the character development season. Don’t worry tho it picks up

Theo Vorster

Used to be made from at least (specifically the bones and hooves of animals like horses). I think most glue sold today isn't made from animal parts anymore.

Big Daddy Dre

Just gotta trust the the process zuko would be a trash character if the just skipped over all his development and went straight to his fights 😂

Big Daddy Dre

I didn’t realize that was thorfin until like 6 minutes into the episode 😂

KeYo

dam cant wait to see the next episode of farmland saga lol "thornfinn learns how to make bread"

Ketent

idk brian but im just gonna speak on some watchers instead, ya do realize if its just fighting over and over with no story no character development the anime always end up trash ppl act like one episode without blood and blades and now the show is ass, ya hilarious

faded

And i just wanted to write what an amazing episode. Guess meaningful dialogue isn’t for everyone

Godrick

its weird seeing snake all prettied up in the anime... they drew that man ugly in the manga.. fuckin neanderthal forehead

$am

Yo, I thought I was trippin for a bit but the title on the green screen says "VINLNAD SAGA"

Godrick

yall really didnt know they make glue by killing horses

MackXi

@Ketent The writing is good. But season one had both action and good writing. So I can see why people might not like this season.

L.C.

Funny hearing what they are saying. They most likely never done any actual farm work a day in their life.

DJ Muldrow

This episode was so beautiful, I actually cried a bit just seeing thorfinns growth as a person, he’s in Vinland right now…he’s where askeladd and his father told him to go.

Guns

Im waiting for an “oh you messed with thorfinn, you gon regret that” moment against some bad guys. I dont know if it will happen but im 60% sure it will.

$am

Americans don't learn much about Agricultural Science in their primary to secondary education. So common crop growing practices we see in the show like land clearing, ploughing, ridging and so on is completely foreign to them. People in agricultural economies be cultivating land with just themselves and their kids

Lurkingposter

What a nice farm. Shame if something happened to it.

Zion Noland

Roshi lowkey cooking iykyk

Daniel Robb

60% is pretty realistic, I think thats about the chances of Thorfinn popping off at some point this season~

Daniel Robb

Thorfinn is actually adorable the way he greets everyone equally, like, he knows he's about to be bullied but he still says hello~

Saikonakoshi

Lupa; just know that elmer's joke was good lmfao

Daniel Robb

Lupa, that glue joke was good. They just dont know 🤣😭

Shin splits

It’s fine can’t expect every episode to be top notch. Also I just don’t try to focus on that stuff

Chikᶠⁱˡa

There’s purpose to the writing. They didn’t just turn this into “farmland saga” just cuz. To get back to S1 status, the characters need some serious soul searching bro. Cant just continue with more “action”

Rhyan Pierre

I’m not sure if it’s a big time skip or this was happening as Canute was taking over

SoClose

Vinyl Nad Saga go crazy

ogking31

in the manga this was still 1015. So basically Canute has his own storyline of timeline while we will see the progression of thorfinn more detailed

Erd'na

Vinland Saga isn't a shonen series. It's a seinen series, what that means is adult themes are it's focal point. You should have seen this from S1 alone. Thors wasn't into fighting anymore. The political story between Canute and the King. And even Askeladd telling Thorfinn to move on and become a true warrior. Do you think Askeladd meant more fighting? Who was the true warrior in this story? It was Thors who abhors fighting. He was telling Thorfinn to become like Thors. And you expect more fighting.

adam8t

Is the player super slow for anyone else

Safire

I know its early but I really hope for another season. The later seasons will be action packed. I've read the manga, and I cannot wait for the later reactions (think people will love it). I don't want to spoil anything but continue to expect good things from Vinland since the writing is top tier.

TimmSchmimm

Damn I loved this episode, thorfinn finally opened his eyes to something else but fighting, murder and revenge. He can appreaciate all these little things and realize how much work all these people put into their lives. Sure he is getting haunted in his dreams by all the murder he commited while he was in askeladds gang but currently he is appreaciating the value of a live. All these little inventions he sees what humans are and doesn't only know the bad side and I hope he comes to the realization, that taking a life just like that isn't good. You need to understand what you are destroying with a single heap of your sword.

Ghastly

its working for me, but yesterday the quality was ass. Not sure if its on my end or patreon

Candy

am i the only one whoa thinks einar sista still alive

Devin B

Honestly with how interested he's getting into farming maybe he might want to make a Vinland of his own

King97

That Elmers joke was funny

Drake Chuckle

Lupa, your elmers joke was fire, it's all good dawg.

Lurkingposter

As a manga reader, reading does speed up the pacing of this arc. Also, I dislike that the show is adding some filler scenes to further slow it down (like Einar's backstory). All I can say is trust the process. The payoff in this arc is huge.

ERRORCODE616

I really like this arc. Thorfinn spent so much time full of rage, just trying to survive and get stronger, that he didn't have time to be inspired by the people and the world around him. He's finding reasons to continue living past his need for revenge, and the emptiness that followed Askeladd's death.

Drake Rage

Yeah, the old man stuff was very interesting, his philosophy, and his relationship with Snake just added a lot more color into this season for me.

ok

10:08 they are NOT "making up the work on the back end" lol they might be working 3x harder with the chores but without the horse they would be working 10x harder lmao

ok

actually so damn true lmao i thought you were exaggerating

ok

15:19 bro this is like the height of technology lol you gotta remember this show is set in the 1000s ... it's like an mf examining an iphone of course it's interesting

ok

also at 20:40 i thought it was cool how Snake said "right Thorfinn" it's a reminder he nows that Thorfinn has seen battle.

rayman

damn yall were just constantly wrong with the predictions the whole episode lmao. (@12:50)Why in the hell would some farm workers go kill a "random" old man with a horse and steal it? That prediction came outa no where and made no sense at all. And then earlier yall said Thorfinn and Einar could technically just take the horse from him...yall, they are SLAVES. How would stealing a whole ass horse as slaves go down?

Leandro Da Silva

Nah at 10:30 dont do Lupa like that hes right. Glue used to be made of horse hair

L1NG

horse hair has lots of collagen (an ingredient for some glue)
