Franklin didn't get that kid killed just to set an example, he probably knew that he was the one that got the cookhouse exposed and wanted to see if he would be upfront with it. Not only did the kid say it wasn't him but he immediately tried to blame Franklin for it, just a combination of those things made Franklin want to use him as an example.

Oh yea that was part was definitely fucked up. It’s crazy because in S1 he saved Franklin from a Cop and Jerome told him to get the fuck away from his nephew. It’s not justified but it probably was some resentment.

give up that lucia ghost: Rios (actress who played lucia) might have wanted a break from the emotionally draining job, though neither FX nor Rios has given a reason for her departure. She has already talked about the psychological difficulties of playing Lucia. Rios said to Vogue that she struggled with the character's gloom and wished she had understood how to let go of it at the end of each day..... she also got addicted to drugs during her time on the show so that could be another reason she left and doesnt want to around that enviornment. but hey maybe they will recast her like they did her mom......

The handling of the Lorena situation by Teddy is just baffling. She jammed up the whole operation last season and you had to pull her to get Franklin out. She was going to send Lucia & Oso to prison and was even threatening Oso with the whole telling everyone he was a rat to make his time in prison harder cause he wasn't talking. Teddy SHOULD have given the heads up to Oso or sat them down to clear the air or set some rules for them but nah, just all of a sudden she's the middleman. Her obsession with trying to bring them down and thinking that whole scenario would be OK is also just as stupid. She should have never been OK with meeting with Oso without Teddy.

i think sheera might be right about them setting up mel to kill her father. not only is she the middle man in the franklin and andre beef but they gave her that gun range scene with him and franklin basically telling her to leave then tf alone in the end.

You reap what you sow, I can't lie what be happening in these shows is really true to reality. Yes they're the characters and we like them but they're still drug dealers and breaking the law so the police doing what they do is technically part of there job. But sometimes they abuse the power they have which is why its a contradictory subject in America. You wanna break the law, don't be surprised and pleading victim when the law comes knocking.

theres a slight difference in that the tongs protect their own people to an extent from the ducks and people who would hurt their own. In snowfall they are actively destroying their community for themselves. It is the same but there is that slight difference there that even if im not explaining it correctly i think its easily noticeable. both wrong but at least the tongs have shown they can come together or stand on their own to protect their people as a whole

I think it personally builds some tension depending on how its done and of course if it isn't to overused. And in regards to the trio, to be fair they find most things hilarious. I can maybe agree about oso, but the thing with Kev worked well in my opinion based on the fact that Franklin didn't have any intention of killing kev, which worked as a shock for the audience. Even Roshi and them didn't think kev was dead at first. So it kind of hits you like a gut punch.

Damn bruh, that's a hot take I cant necessarily disagree with lol But that's part of the reason why I love this show so much is that they never really portray Andre as this morally upstanding good guy, even tho he is on the right side on the law. They show that even tho his intentions are good and even if he isn't as bad as franklin he can still be quite vindictive and play dirty to win. Which is how a lot of people are in real life. A nice shade of grey morality instead of it being black and white. But I'm right there with you about Andre being 100% trash for not stepping in. Just goes to show you that doing the right thing don't mean shit to cops. The show really does a good job of representing the realties of how a lot of black and white cops act even the non racist ones, will just sit and watch them do fucked up shit.

It's more of becoming complacent. In this case, we're talking about a black man in one of the most corrupt LE agencies in American history. LAPD and NYPD really needs to rebuilt from the ground up.
