They are trying to teach jr that the world they fight in is different from.the one he knows.It doesnt matter what condition you are in,doesnt matter if your opponent has a weapon or your opponent has brought other people to fight you as well, it.doesnt matter if you dont feel like fighting you must fight period.every main baki character has fought through some sort of injury where in the real world the fight would be stopped but in this world it doesnt matter you gotta fight and win any where anytime and anybody.

Martial arts was created for the weak to compete with the strong. Ali Jr. always fought while he's at his peak condition and never when injured. You could say he never fully utilized his "Martial arts" since he doesn't know what to do in dire situations. Jr. is strong physically but his martial arts was half assed because he never fought with his life on the line. That's why Ali senior said in the beginning of the episode that martial arts means on site, your condition don't matter.
