DjSKitZ

Let em cook indeed!

Fazzywazzy

Finally. Its here!!!!!

Toria

Yaaaay finally

Dexter

Here we go 🛶

Kanieda

can't wait to watch this after school been waiting on y'all

KevUrb

Damn stopping at the beginning of Wano?

yahye

LETS GOOOOO I'VE BEEN FEINin for this reaction

Kameron Renae

I thoroughly enjoyed this live action im excited to see more. The cast was perfect

LordTouchMe

Work cant finish fast enough, hyped to see you experience the first truly good anime live action adaptation we've received!

Terrel Hudson

Roshi saying he stopped at the beginning of Wano broke my heart 🤣

Renni .

YES I CAN WATCH ON MY WORK BREAK

Adiuva

If I recall correctly, he was waiting until Wano finished before picking it back up. Can't entirely blame him with how bad some of the early pacing of Wano was.

Thallon

Actually Roshi and Lupa, Zoro mentioned in the anime that Boroque Works tried to recruit him. I guess the live action just brought it to life lol

Yvnngpd

Also the first time we see zoro in the live action actually did happen it just wasn’t shown in the anime but they said in the beginning Mr. 7 went missing after going to recruit zoro I’m pretty sure

Devin B

I'm also sure that when he mentioned Mr. 7 in the anime he talked about how he cut him down

Coco

They did indeed cook and made a good meal out of it too

Cleven Anthony

Lmfao seeing sheera dirty Mind coming is so funny 😭😭😭

Loki The god

You know Roshi still traumatized by Danny he's trying to deny the fact that that's the same actor as Koby 😂

Terrel Hudson

And yes sheera you’re right coby was in evil dead well the second one that came out this year. He was the kid that had the dj setup in his room.

HrlIEJB

fun fact the guy who plays zoro aka Mackenyu is best friends with Kento Yamazaki the guy who plays Arisu from AIB

Oliverson

Roshi Clapped, Sheera was right about Koby being the guy from Evil dead, the one who fucked everything up

Ayman Gebrail

Koby actually was the son that fucked everything up in evil dead

LaTesha

Yea the Baroque works part didn't happen in the anime this way, but its just a reference to in the anime when Zoro briefly mentioned that this happened where they tried to recruit him.

Orendi

ngl this is absolutely the best I've seen a live action adaptation go😭

Ian Hover

Roshi clapped😂😂😂 it’s definitely the kid from evil dead

CJ

Koby is the kid from Evil Dead Rises

Don'tReadMyUsername

Don't let Sheera see the Zoro Three Sword Yams Style meme LMAO

Fazzywazzy

Mr 7 scene was a small mention in the SBS section of the manga

ShaquanVirse

Zoro did encounter Mr. 7, it's mentioned much later and also in detail in an SBS

LeFlaneur

The Mr. 7 stuff is canon, it just never was expended as much this.

Danny

interestingly enough, the live action covered events that EXISTED in the show but was never shown. For example, Zoro vs Mr.7 was referenced in the anime but obviously it occurred too early to be shown. And also for how Luffy got into the barrel as well. Like the little new scenes but are still canon

Ougi

Yeh zoro mentions the mr 7 stuff briefly in Alabasta tho i fully forgot until I got reminded

Oliverson

lol why you so mad over a comment, i was commenting while watching so messaged that before he realised. But the second part of the comment was about Kobys EDR Character who fucked everything. Yall need to chill.

Adrian Aldridge

Fun bit, zoro mention in the anime that a member of baroque tries to recruit zoro early on. SO it was mentioned in the manga they just gave it some life

Stephan Ali

Mr. 7 and Zoro DID happen we just didnt see it. I think in Little Garden Mr. 3 brings up how they tried to recruit zoro by force and he killed an operative.

V STAN

Noice

Wrëck

*rubs hands* man i cant wait until nami gets her bbl lmfao

Vincent S Deluca

They do mess with some stuff and add some manga only stuff, and stuff we didnt explicitly see but were told about. Mr 7/Baroque works did try to recruit Zoro, we heard about it in whiskey peak and Oda drew the guy in an SBS.

godUsoland

The Mr. 7 thing is canon and was mentioned in the SBS Manga corner. Zoro mentions in the manga when they first met Baroque Work that he was invited once by Mr. 7, but he said no and killed him.

Sasha

Lets fucking gooooo

KiRissa

You should watch the Rurouni Kenshin live action movies. There even better than OPLA imo

lyssa

Mid

Random Guy

Yeah it's good. It's on my top 3 live action behind rorouni kenshin 1-3 and gintama.

Jalan

The actor playing the swordsman Zoro, is the son of legendary famous martial artist and actor, Sonny Chiba whom you may also remember from Kill Bill vol.1 as the man who gives Uma Thurman the sword she uses in the film. And yes it’s him doing his own fighting and most of the stunt work cause he trains in martial arts in real life as well like his father. And Mackenyu (Zoro) is also a very popular actor in Japan mostly known in many live action adaptations animes that are pretty successful like Rurouni Kenshin: The Final as Enishi

StorySmith []

Roshi think about EVERY SINGLE PERSON ZORO zoro has had a 1 on 1 fight with…..Minority hunter zoro is here

nviii

Zoro will never beat the allegations

CJArts

I think that the casting of this show is great, and they did a pretty good job. However I cant help but feel it isn't really one peace. Now I'm no hardcore fan but I am taking a film is art class. Personally i think what they should do more on the next season is More exaggeration when it comes to expressions; let luffy yell, pose, and jump on things, have him be as flexible and dynamic as his power, I personally feel like the wanted posters should be actually drawn instead of a filter, maybe actually have their manga characters as the pictures, Better camera angels, as stated Japanese media is known for its beautiful style of exaggerated expressions, that's how you get chibi's, gross creep faces, and even edgy characters, they are all exaggerated forms of expression, that should also be extended to the camera work as well and editing. That's just my un asked opinion though

Daniel

yall dont know the money I would give for u to watch the anime lmaoo

Johnwick

Its decent . Not fantastic

Kimuru

Oh we watching peak now

Kumi Chan

You have some nice points that would make this show better, but the only thing I would disagree on is the wanted posters, but i still respect it

Emiliano Ruiz Chong

Just a heads up, there are a few things different from the anime, but the overall story is the same. Since Roshi and Lupa have one piece knowledge, they should recognize the differences.

Koifull

I was looking a Kobys face like where do I recognise this pretty guy from? then sheera mentions evil dead and she's right it is Danny.

Daniel

yall ik where they are at, I wanna see them catch up and watch the new stuff lol

LongBoyy

But by exaggerating the acting and making it feel animated will make it tacky and cringe. Doing so probably would have doomed this series just like other live action.

CJArts

If you do it wrong, take the 1950 Japanese film Rashomon directed by Akira Kurosawa. A great example with the bandit and brides twisted laugh and expressions, along with the cowardness of the peasant, the crude nature of the guy who asked questions and etc. These are all great ways of showing how exaggerated expressions can work in live action. Now we have to match the world to what is being shown! For example when you watch a cartoon everything looks like it belongs their because it shares the same element, from color, to how things are structured to even the filter. This example is shown in The hobbit, Dungeons and Dragons the movie, Star wars, and even Marvel Avengers. The filter blends in with the characters and their actions making them believable. For this series, make the place more vibrant! Less low filter, one piece has always been beautiful, when Luffy is excited have him stand on something, when a villain is being pompous have them set their foot on something and look down and position the camera at a lower angel giving them this look of "I am bigger then you", etc! Do some editing and you could get a nice blending result!

Vickiola

I’m so excited for this!

LeFlaneur

Waiting for Nami’s character growth 🍉 🍉 😏

Ajwidascope

lol Koby is from evil dead

Ajwidascope

So the scene with Mr 7 did happen just off screen If I remember correctly in the anime him saying baroque works came for him but he wanted to be the boss

Bxneeyyx

that’s the only way i’ll watch one piece. if sheera ends up continuing it and it comes on patreon

Mrlanie

you know where else coby has been? my heart

Payray

I wasn’t planning on watching this; however, it did get my friend to watch the anime. I don’t like some of the changes they make, but I get it. I still think they did a great job.

Xander

I feel like Zoro actor could play a good Sasuke in a live action

October Veil

Total Warrior fan here and didn't for the life of me recognize Buckley AT ALL lmao

Umbra_Nex

Cool thing is that while the Mr 7 v Zoro scene didnt happen in the manga or anime, it WAS part of the lore that Zoro killed the old Mr 7 on Sixis Island when Baroque Works tried to recruit him. So its really cool they actually made that a scene!

Zach Saltou

at 18:41 it did indeed happen, just off screen. zoro mentions that someone from boroque works tried recruiting him at some point around the time they met vivi

Infinity

Minority hunter zoro back at it again.

Devin B

They had to downplay the expressiveness of the characters because it would get annoying as a live action. For anime it's perfect though.

Argo2Unitard

The camera work does get more dynamic as the season goes on, but it definitely could be better. But that's less a critique and more a thing that could be improved on imo. But I wholeheartedly disagree with the bit about personalities, especially Luffy. Toning them down was probably the best idea beacause there is a solid disconnect when they're portrayed in live action. It's literally how we ended up with the Edward issue in the Cowboy Bebop Live Action.

Argo2Unitard

Man, a 7 isn't decent, that's at least pretty good. We're not using a High School grading rubric.

CJArts

In balance it could work, one of the best actors to show this would be Jim Carrey! His expressions and attitude gave him this live action cartoon like feel to it! Lifting his eyes, widening his smile, turning his face, he is a perfect example of how to give live action a genuine cartoony feel without diving off the deep end, some other examples are Jonny Depp, David Tenant, and Robbin Williams (R.I.P). As for body language silent films also show how much expression you can put into your movements as that was the only way to communicate it back in the day, as well with mimes, clowns, and circus related stunt performers!

Infinity

Also luffy literally a crackhead. when you go back and consider this random crackhead 18 year old showing up at your door step to crack your ass and foil your master plans just because he bored early one piece is hilarious.

Amzee

the Mr.7 stuff was off screen. Zoro offhandedly mentioned Baroque works attempted to recruit him during that arc. It's pretty cool they showed it in the Live action, gives more foreshadowing and Oda approved it so it's all good

CJArts

Cowboy BeeBop dived too much, and Edward was always going to be a hard character to sell. They zoomed up too close to her triggering a uncanny valley affect, the overall film felt less 80-90's retro style, and more of a early 2000's Spy kids movie style. Spike's actor John Cho is also a bit too old to be playing spike in my opinion, he just didn't really look like Spike! I think they should've even used a filter to give it a classic 80's affect to really sell it, put in the heavy film gradient and mirror some ways early Jackie Chan movies looked and i think it would of done better, even more intricate props could even sold it more. They were taking a anime made in the 80's or 90's that felt, and looked a certain way and tried to apply it to a modern day world without tweaking it to fit our more crisp and high quality cameras and sounds, no wonder it was a bit uncanny.

Spriggz

We FINALLY here!!

Pucki

btw its the kid from evil dead

Jazmyne Mattucci

Good eye Sheera as usual! Coby's actor is the same kid(Danny) from Evil Dead Rise.

Infinity

It starts off ok even though they changed tons of stuff and buggy is the best part of the show but god damn does it fall off hard like the last 3 episodes lol.

Kenny Ace

I disagree i think episode 7 or 8 could be the best episode in the whole thing

Bunny

Holy shit, I did not realize that was Buckley. That’s crazy!

earthphoenix7068

Roshi why you telling me to watch Warrior? Damn man, I'm caught up.

emma

it's not perfect but its good and way better than most anime live action. casting for the strawhats was top tier

Evan Jenkins

I read that a lot in comment sections, so I think it's just a meme that gets passed around people who didn't watch it. The fricking Mihawk episode is in the last three and that's easily the best episode. Either that or people really love their Syrup Village arc.

Freeofgreed

You know this is good because you see Roshi's face turn from super sceptical to a genuine smile at the end.

Arturo

I love that there's more gore in the live action

Evan Jenkins

I think a Japanese live action adaptation may be better at integrating that kind of thing. It may look forced or even insulting if an American director tried to emulate super deformed Japanese style facial expressions.

Evan Jenkins

I love how many cover stories and other little Oda side stories end up in here. It's almost like they're saying, "Ok this isn't 1:1 canon at all, but you're going to have to watch it if you want to see all these little fan theories confirmed and off screen moments adapted." Honestly, that's what I want as a One Piece fan. The manga is feature complete as it is. Give me some new stuff and show me what other characters were doing offscreen.

Tiki

YESSSSSSSS

Tiki

its been so long since one peak has graced the channel lets GOOOOOOOO

CJArts

Nothing wrong with asking, interviewing, or doing research with Japanese directors or people knowledgeable in that field to help! That's how art is formed and can build strong bridges!

Guav

The minority hunter strikes again lmapo

Jorge Viera

the event with mister 7 was never shown in the manga or anime, but it was talked about them trying to recruit zoro and he killer mr 7

13

I know letting Roger get his last words is pretty dumb with no context, but most people in this world do respect him to some extent, even Marines

Jorge Viera

clap for roshi cuz that is the kid from evil within

Champion Bescos

There were many problems with the Cowboy Bebop adaptation, but the vast majority of them were with the atrocious writing coming from people who simply did not understand the source material. Visually, the netflix series already looked like a cheap exploitation film from the 70's - as in fucking ugly for the sake of being ugly, with over-saturation, an overabundance of dutch angels and quick cuts, over-reliance on contrast, too many close shots, and a general lack of storyboarding and pulling back - and that is NOT what Bebop was ultimately inspired by. Visually, Bebop pulled from timeless auteurs like Scorsese and Kurosawa, directors known for long takes, steady shots, symmetrical frames, colorful but not oversaturated palettes, and a big emphasis on nature/character juxtaposition and the use of motion WITHIN the frame as opposed to moving the camera. In all honesty, everything from the casting to the cinematography to the soundtrack to the writing was horrible in the netflix adaptation. To be honest, seeing as its the same studio behind this OP adaptation, I'm amazed the writing and casting were on point, even if the directing is still awful.

Jamaal Ellison

Notice the first black guy we see is eating chicken. 👀 smh

Champion Bescos

My thoughts exactly! It is not flawless (far from it in terms of directing and cinematography), but the adaptation itself is so well done because the writing is on point and the casting is damn near perfect. It's rare to feel so much chemistry from an ensemble, and it's even rarer to have writers love and properly condense a very long and lived in mythology for a new audience. Overall, despite still feeling a bit stale and uninspired visually, the show is a huge WIN when compared to other live action adaptations and that makes me smile.

KeYo

mad I'm so glad you guys reacted to this. I love one piece so much. I really hope this gets you to react to the anime but I doubt it since there is so much fucking content that it might be too much. cant wait to see the rest of the reactions!

Louis

I hope lupa and roshi continue to watch the one piece anime

Radeon500

dont forget to also watch the behind the scenes

Alexx_0301

Awesome video guys. BTW sheera is correct the actor for Koby is the kid from evil dead

Berts Tv

This is ass 4/10

MonkeeyDthomas

zoro giving luffy shit for the final move name, whatttt Zoro finishing moves names be the longest bullshit in the anime/manga funny asf

October Veil

As someone who knew nothing about One piece going in, I took the recommendations of this community and gave this LA version a shot, and it was pure fun all the way through. Didn't expect to enjoy it as much as I did. Now I'm checking out all the recommendations lol. Thanks everyone!

Dragon Dance

Yeah bro it's something called "character development" idk if you've heard of it before...

Tyler

Zoro is never beating the accusations lmao

Kisuke01

I've never watched One Piece so this gonna be a first. Seen clips know the characters that's about it

Idk

They cooked

rickie woodson

had no idea that was buckley under all that makeup. fun facts: he's south african in real life and the dude who plays zoro (mackenyu) is the son of japanese cinema legend, sonny chiba.

Yolo Samurai

Funny how Lupa stopped at Water 7 and Colby shows up like right after. But seriously though, stopping at Water 7 is almost blasphemous because so much changes in that arc. Hope he gets back to it.

Yolo Samurai

Also Roshi, the Baroque works incident did happen, it is canon. They just didn't show it, but it was mentioned that he was visited by an agent who he killed.

Johnwick

That scene wit zoro & mister 7 happen before one piece started . Mister 7 was mentioned around alabasta arc .

LiquidXGravity

Zoros fight scenes are always the best

JJ_loves_日本

Maybe one piece Anime reactions in the future? Maybe? I know their schedule is packed but who knows?

Kars

“Sheera getting upset that they let roger finish his speech” not me cheesing the whole time 😁

Ghost_Troupe

The scene with Zoro and Mister 7 was mentioned in passing, though Oda didn't actually show him until now.

Sumflo

That is indeed Morgan Davies from Evil Dead Rise

Sillybilly123

It’s the same kid from the evil dead rise

Shadow!

They said it would only include the East Blue arc. LOOOOL EP 4 spoiler for episode 313. WHY?

William Tippen

Roshi confidently getting clapped 😂😂😂

PayTheRent

☠️That song in Luffys flash back sounds familiar

Kumi Chan

What do you mean changed a bunch of stuff? They obviously cant fit all of east blue arc in 8 episodes, but it still makes sense

GigaDirt

Ah yes, the beginning of Zoro the minority hunter

Kumi Chan

How the hell does sheera know about robin already? She must have seen alabasta 🫢🫢

Oshane Braham

That is the guy from evil dead lol

adam8t

she probably just knows the character nico robin is pretty popular

Godrick

imagine if they made namis actress get a boob job during the time skip to stay true to the anime

Oliver

Considering anime Nami i believe it was a fair question lmao

October Veil

The metal jaw he was wearing was crazy, but he's also a good character actor changing everything up. props to him!

rickie woodson

I dont even know who that is and i did research before watching the live action as i didnt watch the anime

IzanagiAce

3 Years ago I had been a OP hater and barely knew anything about the show but even I knew who characters like Robin, Chopper, and Franky were just from being an anime fan

Lemonkatze

minority hunter zoro real?? /j

Drake Rage

Zoro is my favorite crewmate, I am so happy. They definitely doing a good job bringing the characters to life in live-action.

TokinMex

get ready for a clap back because he is not in the evil within, that's a video game

Lemonkatze

anyone show yall the vid of inaki (luffy) meeting oda? bc that was the most wholesome shit ive ever seen in my lifce

BreezeMoneyy

I never been one to watch anime or anything like that but I be watching em w ya

Joshua Burns

In the anime Zoro actually mentions meeting #7 in later episodes and hints at having killed him but you never see it, so it’s pretty dope they actually show it

The Pebble

Bro, they really made live-action Zoro's first victim an addition to his minority hunting quota, I refuse to believe that was a coincidence.

Savage2fresh 60

In the anime zoro did mention how they tried to recruit him but never showed it

Didier

Well she's literally Roshi's girl, so I'm assuming they live in the same place and she probably was sometimes near him when he read his manga? So of course she knows some characters?

One & Only

I'm glad they added the mr. 7 shit, because zoro mentioned the approached him a while ago

Taylor

i love lupa but man does NOT know when to end the joke lol when with roshi literally saying "stop stop stop " lmfaoooo

Ruben Pomp

Sheera annoying as usual

Jaelyn Mcgee

The actress they got for Alvida is so pretty. I hope that they don't slim her down if she shows up later

Calamiti (Bleu)

I don't know if anyone noticed ,but in that first shot during rogers execution where they show the marines and someone is dawning a green cape, that's dragon right?

Gordon Lou

hand axe morgan was actually very reasonable in the movie ngl

Rasheem Gadsden

I see you were saying that the Zoro scene in the beginning with the guy from boroque works never happened it actually did it was mentioned in alabasta when zoro was confronted by Mr 1 I believe

Sterling Mack

And apparently the chick right before they showed shanks was crocodile because he did have a gender change in the show

CornCobBob

Actually that still unconfirmed. Oda did a gender change for all major characters on a lark on his SBS pages to show what they would look like. This rumor that Crocodile was a woman came up around the paramount war which revealed that Ivankov had history with Crocodile. But as the manga has revealed that Ivankov has had history with whole bunch of characters that aren't gender bent. People have been asking Oda this question for nearly 10 years now but he keeps saying that he isn't going to reveal Crocodiles past until the next arc he shows up in.

rakka

I'm new to One Piece but I heard about Robin years ago because she's on a bunch of "anime waifu tier lists" and "favorite anime character" discussions. Before I saw One Piece I thought Nami was a side character and Robin was the main girl in the show, just based on the stuff people said online. It's like how I knew about Orihime in Bleach for years before I knew who Rukia and Yoruichi were

rakka

I'm new to One Piece but I thought it was pretty funny how Nami and Zoro are too cool to yell attack names and people like Luffy, Usopp, and Buggy are all screaming cringe attacks like some chuunibyo headass shit 😂

rakka

Where are the Behind the Scenes? I saw some interviews on yt, but I would love to see more about it if there are any videos about how they made it

Maseter

At this point I really hope the crocamom shit goes nowhere. The fans have made it so weird that it would legitamately taint the story if it plays out that way. Now uncle croc or poppa croc could be interesting
