some of yall gonna hate me lol I stand by my opinion

Comments

Arima Kana

Character who was done dirtiest in history of anime.period

Charlie baker

Totally get being annoyed about it , honestly id rooted for baki from jump with just how jr acted from jump

Alfredo

What a waste of a character, son of a legend got ran through by the squad (pause), then Baki folded buddy like a ALDI's bag. Hoezue back their soaking up this mfs tears like a mop. Hit the streets with his trash ass and never return.

Jarrell Marquis Lewis

The only issue I had was having other characters hype up Jr like he stood a chance. But we've seen characters get hyped up to get slapped down quick before. So, it's not like it's a surprise when Jr character based partially in the real world

Eddie Fofana

Yeah growing up is when u realize that that the Author is a huge nationalist and he’s gonna humiliate any other country but Japanese fighters

Kobe Teal

It was the biggest wate of time arc. I'm with you. The next stuff is pretty good but that was trash

mal

baki hanma son of ogre is the same series lmao

Oh Alone

The author just f us up.

Chocolatedude100

Agreed the mohammad ali jr arc was hot ass, not only did they do hos character dirty, it was a huge waste of time with 0 character development.

Christopher Abernathy

Yall aren't crazy. This arc's pay off was garbage and Jr is a wasted character that could've had a great future in Baki. The final moment of Baki challenging his dad doesn't even hit as hard because they downplay Jr so much.

Devin B

The whole point of the arc was to show it's not easy being in this world of fighting and they used someone like Jr who has a lot of potential to show you what you need to survive in it. Jr had to learn the harsh reality of fighting even if you're not at your best and to not make any excuses going into a fight. He was almost complete but the one thing he lacked was the will to risk his life while trying to take a life, with resolve like that he couldn't thrive in their world and Baki proved to be the personification of the perfect underground warrior.

Omega Kyo

Completely agree with Roshi. Even if the argument is made the JR didn’t want to fight to the death it could have been shown better in a proper fight against Baki. Itagaki did JR dirty.

Mari

Pretty sure baki Hanma is next

Charlie baker

Jack went by jack hammer before it was revealed during the maximum tournament he was yujiros child and bakis half brother

Demer'sLemur

NOW the series finally started

Eddie Fofana
>>119493739

Ok not convinced answer me this why u think Baki is a pure Hanma not Jack here’s a hint it’s on their mother side, here’s another hint one is Japanese

Nick Vaughn

You’re not alone in that opinion Roshi. My whole thing with it is that I don’t care that he got two pieced and that was it…my issue comes with having that brotha snot cryin like an absolute bitch at the end. One of the most disrespectful moments I’ve seen in an anime. Also honestly I feel like y’all can skip the next episode because it’s just a recap of the escaped prisoners arc kinda and just jump right into the next season which is the Biscuit Arc

madmax

wheres dende with a senzu bean when you need him smh yeah i agree with roshi, they could of did alai jr’s arc a lot different or in just one episode, but we move.

TrixieTurner

The Junior fight was hilarious, he got worked.

Eddie Fofana
>>119493739

I feel like u haven’t watched Baki have u? cause if u did u would know how many times the USA was humiliated

Charlie baker

So its just baki hanma next, its baki 2018,baki 2020 then the 2 seasons of baki hanma.

Malaika

I HATEDDD that Jr arc man. I really thought he would have at least put up a fight

Rainz

That arc was trash the next one is better though.

Jake Young

The whole point was that Jr acted like it was a competition but Baki characters are just insane. They just want to kill each other and go all out.

Jerrell Alex

I see where your coming from. But what I think is that we weren't supposed to like or feel sympathy for his character, everything that happened to Ali was meant as a gift to us.

Fred_D3

He was prepared to kill but he wasn’t prepared to be killed in the fight, by the time he faced baki he had only learned half the lesson he should’ve learned from his prior fights. If he was prepared to die in the ring he wouldn’t have been nervous, he’d have a clear head & in turn would probably be able to counter baki’s attacks

Trequan Williams

I’m not mad at you for your opinion roshi it’s completely understandable you had expectations of a good fight between baki and jr and they didn’t deliver. For me personally I kinda thought it was obvious what they were doing so I kinda had a feeling that, that was gonna be the outcome cause it just felt to fishy because of all the hype they were giving him and throughout all that we didn’t see any Baki he was really chillin so my bar was already set low because I had an idea of what they were about to do. But yea definitely not mad about how you feel and objectively speaking I mostly agree with you.

Trequan Williams

Aye but it looks like jr. Got the girl 🤣🤣🤣 she a clown he can have her 💯

Chef MellowD

You’re absolutely right. This arc is stupid. Kozue is for the streets.

Chef MellowD

Still stand by watching OG Baki. Can’t appreciate the two taps now cuz Baki used to go thru it. The chip on jacks shoulder is also much more understandable when you know his story. I love him having to recognize Baki, again.

DIOR

This was the worst arc in the show by far and it doesn’t suddenly turn into a masterpiece but I promise yall will fw the remaining parts a lot more, it’s damn near two different shows

That Guy

Throughout the season itegaki left hints that jr wasnt about that life with the reflection in jr's eye being blue while everyother main baki fighter eyes being red

Mari

next episode is a recap basically, so you can just move onto to Baki Hanma

That Guy

But forget being strong everyfighter in show is strong damn near superhuman.but they are all fighting for the title of strongest

Vincent S Deluca

Dont worry most people agree this is probs the weakest arc lol, luckily its also the shortest at like 3 eps lol. Also the thing at the end is basically super advanced Shadow Boxing, hes imaging his dad. In my mind because everyone is so experienced and Baki's image is so detailed they can tell who hes fighting and "See" it too lol

That Guy
>>119493739

Biscuit is litterally one of the strongest characters in the series, and dorian had the baki cast shitting there pants for a few episodes ,retsu is chinese garland was russian and jack hanma is canadian just because they dont beat the main character all the time doesnt mean he doesnt like other countries

Amos

We don’t hate you You’re right😂

DreAKAWolves

Alai Jr got HOED the simultaneous respect & disrespect to Ali makes my head spin man, all of that buildup WASTED on god he had to be better than that man….I feel robbed….

Jermaine

It's all good most of us agree this arc was the worst arc of the show but don't let it make you hesitant going into Baki Hanma you can tell the difference immediately almost like watching a new show we all promise!

Poptile Patrik

Junior called Jack ,,Hammer" because in the first seasons of Baki in the Maximum tournament Jack entered under the name of Jack Hammer to hide his true identity which he revealed before the final match of the tournament with Baki

Chris Kringle

Worst mini arc fs but if you keep watching the next one is Goated

nviii

The lion was real, but Baki conjured a mental image of a sparing partner to shadow box with.

Shawn Oxley

Nah its fair you don't like it the only reason i dont mind is because its funny how absurd it was

Emiliano Ruiz Chong

Personally I didn't like the Alai Jr arc, but the next arcs are a complete BANG.

Poptile Patrik

Baki has a special type of training called imaginary training or image based training where he imagines his oponent and fights him to get ready for the real fight and he takes real damage fitghing his imagination.

Sha

Ya this is probably the worst arc in the anime

Emanuel S

As a baki fan, hard agree with Roshi, the Ali thing could have been 2-3 eps max ngl

TheOGDaffy

This was some hot ass lmao

sotonye ogan

But why did buddy think he was sweet from the beginning challenging Baki was it just cuz he did a few chin K.Os in the tourney? that snort dangling with sparkles killed me LMAO.

Garion pope

Roshi you weren't wrong with your opinion. As someone who has seen this arc twice now the way they executed this was weak. Alai Jr did deserve to get his ass beat though for messing with Kozue instead of just hassling Baki until he agrees to at least spar against him. That and there was no lesson here, it just looked like everyone after jack was just getting their run back afterwards unfairly lol. They made him into a complete loser and SIMP instead of what I been hearing, an arrogant dude that just needed to be humbled and finally challenged Baki the right way. Either way as far I know they have yet to bring him back to show how he has changed. Baki was still cool because he wasn't fighting to kill until Jr dumbass made it clear that what he wanted.

matt B

Don't worry roshi everyone thinks that the Alai Jr arc is kinda trash

Mubarez Ahmad

I don't know a single person that liked this arc

lomez

Consider your expectations subverted. Some real Rian Johnson shit. Anyway, speaking seriously the arc was worth it for me just for that hilarious sequence of junior going back to the diner more beat up everyday.

Kevin

Hated this arc lol it’s already been said plenty of times but the whole Jr arc was such a waste. Anyways glad we’re on to the next arc.

lomez

About Jack's name, he went by Jack Hammer before the brother reveal, and the word transcribed in Japanese is also pronounced hanma. Not sure which do they call him after because I haven't see an untranslated page of the manga.

Anonymous

Man’s got punched, kicked in the balls, and choked out all in the matter of a couple mins for an arc that lasted 3-4 episodes , yeah that was a waste of time

NovaVortex

Not Jr being hyped up like triple H only to get jobbed out to John Cena at WrestleMania...

Infinity

Best season soon.

Prxnce
>>119509276

They call him both his fighter name is Jack hammer but when they’re personally talking to him it’s hanma

KeYo

omg every time yujiro shows up I just get hype and bust out laughing because this dude is just wild. he's always glowing or posing in a demonic way

S

It's totally fine if you didn't like this arc.

Newerk

This arc was pointless fr, but honestly I enjoyed it because I found it hilarious. From what I've seen so far in the newer seasons(I'm not fully caught up), Jr hasn't appeared again, but he can have a nice redemption arc if the author chooses to (tbh he doesn't have to reintroduce Jr if he doesn't want to). I honestly like Jr as a character much more after this arc. Idk if jr will ever have that killer instinct, but I can see him becoming a much more capable fighter whose willing to put more on the line to get a victory. He loved winning more than he did fighting, but I think that may have changed after this arc. Everyone got their fair share of Ls in this show.

Prxnce

Everyone didn’t like the Ali arc but the energy is about to shift for this next season

Newerk
>>119498178

Although I don't know much about Jack since I didn't watch the old baki season, he's some how one of my favorite characters. Idk, I just feel like he's got something to prove, and he'll literally do anything for it.

Frederick

This whole Muhammad Ali Jr. Arc is the equivalent of the Shadow Beast getting hyped up in HXH just to get DOG WALKED by the Phantom Troupe. 😂

earthphoenix7068

Why did they make Baki fight a boxer before this? He shoulda fought Jon Jones or something.

KeYo

you're good roshi don't worry most people agree the arc was trash I feel like it should have ended quickly like after he got destroyed by Jack I feel like it should have ended right there but also I feel like they should have at least went through with it. had them go full fight mode and then baki win because we knew baki was gonna win lol but it is what it is. moving on to more yujiro satan time lol

danial javady

apparently the wiki says that Baki had to finish him in one punch because if he got hit with a punch by Jr, he would've lost. still trash though

Dues Montana

you’re not getting the “baki is strong “ everyone has fought baki and damn near killed his ass sooo they know his strength and his potential it’s the fact that yujiro accepted it is why they’re saying he’s strong and please don’t downplay doppo he use to give yujiro problems back then till yujiro said fuck this shit took his eye and briefly killed him shiiit even the doctor dude and his brother put semi fear in baki when they first fought so don’t downplay anyone all of them baki respects their strength and so do they plus the scene with kozue being scared was because of how ruthless baki is acting is reminding her about before when he became bloodlust and almost killed restu the first thing they fought now to ali jr the reason why he lost was because of the difference in worlds they live in baki and the rest live killed or be killed world where they aren’t afraid of death something ali wasn’t prepared for even his dad said it that he was willing to kill but not be killed him self you can see it as he was terrified if baki kills him he wasn’t ready to throw his life to win while baki had that carved into him throughout his life ali jr thought simply KOing these dudes and that’s it he tried to live in a world he’s not fit to be in and that’s why he lost and kept losing

von

Ya shoulda watched Kengan instead 😂🤦🏿‍♂️

Panda

Peak bullshit arc comin and man do i love it lmao. Man i love baki, people take this show way to seriously. There is a lot of BS in it, but the storytelling is peak as far as enjoyment i swear. NGL tho i agree with roshi, the ali arc wasn't it for me. Probably my least favorite arc, i love that they put some respect on ali but that arc had the least of the shit i like in baki.

Orlando

nice nice we bouta start watching peak anime from here on

Guav

yeah arc is pretty meh just feels like they just used jr to show jack doppo and shibu are still all himothy

Saint Nexus

Not gonna lie, when I first started seeing this arc...I thought it was alright and low-key way weirder than before. Just cause it felt pointless like Roshi said, and then Muhammad Ali Jr was so hyped up. We knew he was gonna lose, but I thought he was gonna be the vegeta or something, but he just got folded and threw away like a cum sock lol. Idk, I expected more personally.

Sam Al

i mean i undertsand the opinion but this is litteraly how baki plot work. Show an potentially very strong guy that everybody think could defeat yujiro or sum and getting whooped bad too show how strong baki or yujiro is. More the show is going an the less the fight are long except maybe two or three but that it. They are so strong that its basically the first to get hit lose.

Fuji

i wonder if this was quicker in the manga because this fr felt like a waste of time.

Taylor Wimpfhiemer

I'm pretty sure it's baki habma and then baki son of ogre just hope y'all don't mix up the seasons and skip one cause they next season is fire

Charlie baker
>>119502568

Think the prisoner arc is the worst just cause of how janky and weird fights and animation was that season not to mention pacing

Charlie baker
>>119494297

Its the worst lol, its got nothing on og baki and def nothing on son of ogre/baki hanma

iAlpha Soul

Ali jr. was a Canon event for failure xD cuz those 3 Trainers he faced was Baki's 1st challengers in "Baki The Grappler" when he was in middle school 🤣

iAlpha Soul

I'm hyped for them to see Oliver Biscuit xD

Godrick

im ngl... im not gonna lie... shit feels racially motivated.. not "dragonball background black guy" level of racist but like-ik yall saw the way they drew his hands..

The Pebble

This show is not serious enough for ya'll to be explaining deep meanings and serious undertones. I do love this show though; Constant, absolute nonsense said with all the confidence is hilarious to me, but ya'll are wildin out here over-analyzing this xD

Reaper General

You guys should definitely react to Kengan Asura afterwards!!!

Saucy Jonathan

I love Baki but I agree I didn’t like this arc

Jalani Abdul-Aziz

So my question is does Baki even care for the girl anymore? (Forgot her name) and are they even together up at the most recent episode?

Emmanuel

Am I the only one who likes this arc 😭Ali Jr. is one of my favorite characters too.

Son Goku
>>119541901

what baki are you watching lmao?? he nearly killed Ali Jr because the prize money was his Gf...

Jalani Abdul-Aziz
>>119541901

I mean it’s a fair question because since the meeting of Baki, Jr and Kozue in the park Baki hasn’t really shown much affection towards her. Even after he won he didn’t really care to converse with her or acknowledge that she was the prize. Imo I think only Jr saw her as the prize while Baki just wanted to fight like in the Ratai tourney

Lamaree Jackson

Literally said last episode that this dude was about to be fed to Brock Lesnar 😂🤣😂🤣 that was like Kofi losing to him in like 10 seconds

Charlie baker
>>119541901

bakis opinion is everyone is free to make their own choices and dating is a 2 way street thus if kozue no longer wanted him she was free to pick someone else to date as he had no intention to change his plans, at the same time he does care for kozue and their relationship pops up periodically in future baki stuff but itagaki largely makes her a background character after this arc. Kozue later describes this interaction with the broken ali jr as being like his mom looking after him not romantic in any way and obviously his fight with jr involved some gruesome moves like the groin kick and the nearly lethal strangle hold thus her reactions during the fight.

Charlie baker
>>119518127

kengan is fun but baki hanma and the likemade for better reactions then kengan wouldve with how outlandish, absurd and funny parts of baki are

Kodiyami

Bro ngl I’d care that this mf got beat if his ass ain’t deserve it. That’s just happens when you step up with mfs you don’t know 🗣️‼️

Doc Anime!

Jr wasn't ready for the world he was trying to enter. They all had to beat that lesson into him.

The Pebble

I 100% agree with Roshi, this Ali Jr arc might as well be filler in my eyes. You could skip it and literally not miss a single beat in terms of actual story, other than the Baki and Yujiro moment, I guess...But the next arc doesn't even get into that anyway so even then you aint missin shit fr.

ATROPHOS
>>119533391

you are retarded quit playing the race card every time a nigga loses. they showed a lot of respect to mohammed ali shut your whiny ass up

LeHarlequin .

Ali arc was garbage when I watched it the first time. I totally agree. Just don't lose hope. Get through the prison arc, PLEASE. imo, the prison arc is the absolute worst stuff, besides the parts w/ Biscuit. I hope I'm wrong and maybe yall won't mind it so mych

Sasha

From right to left it's weird, weirder the weirdest.

TimmSchmimm

Yeah that ali jr. arc was way too long they could've done all that within 2 episodes with the same effec. I understand what Itagaki was try to go for but bro you could've done that a little better with more efficient story telling. Dont worry I think everyone agrees, that the ali jr arc was bad especially with all the build up throughout the season and even last season like damn bruh why you gotta bait us like that you couldve used any other character as a place holder of bakis growth and do ali a sperate thing idk man.

Edward Michaelle

Nah man. Soooo many people didnt like this "arc" if you can even call it an arc. Nothing was even resolved. if they cut out all that and just jumped into the Baki Yujiro match setup nothing wouldve changed.

Ayojii
>>119516883

If this is true I wish they would have made that clear I would have appreciated that WAY more

Himothy

Ali jr plotline was ASSPUSSY

Charlie baker
>>119721220

i mean i think theyll have a fun time with all the outlandish outta pocket shit that happens next season from boosh to all the wild shit guevara and oliva do

logan

Completely agree, the Alai Jr "mini-arc" was pretty unneccessary, but that's the kind of show 'Baki' is, with the random cutaways... part of me was hoping that someone would convince you guys to skip it and just start watching 'Baki Hanma' already since it's way better in the story.

Andrew Reid Jr

Baki was talking about not being mad that buddy was moving on his girl then proceeds to smoothly and brutally pack him out. THAT SHIT HAD TO BE PERSONAL!

Andrew Reid Jr
>>120125242

Honestly though it was just to prove the difference between being willing to die in a fight (Baki) and avoiding death in a fight (Alai Jr)

Vincent Samuel Price

Ali is black. after the first dude came back saying they're gonna have the real fight the next frame should have been at the airport.

Mollywopper

this the oppisite of that "nigga thought we was finna agree" meme lmaooo. Nah this whole arc was pointless and I haven't met anyone that thinks otherwise. Even if people disagree on why they think its bad they all still know its bad. But that's exactly why I couldn't wait til y'all got here to see your reactions lol.

Kermit

Should be clear 2 seasons in that the writers of this show are trolls, lol. I'm not even mad anymore.

Phil Youtuber

“Ali Jr arc” more like the “Baki is him arc” lol
