Some times I can lay on my back but sometimes it causes pain reaching down front, so I lay on my side but get confused on direction of movement. At PFPT it seams to feel best at 11&1 thats the front right? And is that on either side of the urethra? My new PFPT assesed rectally but didn't work there at my first session because of all the spasms I had at the evaluation. She only worked on the scar tissue and spermatic cord next to the base of my penis, her slow deep pressure calmed shit down and I didn't realize how deep she was until she released the pressure. First time at therapy I didn't get an erection and the first time I was ever excited about not having one. The last PFPT poke hard and fast and I got used to the scar, perineum and rectal pain, erections and spasms every session. Thank you Dr. Susie and thank your live model for working so hard to bring that exercise to me/us!

My PFPT recommended the wand for self care of Pudendal Nerve issues, when our time is over. Thanks for this demo, Dr.

Lying on your side is definitely an option and some even prefer to stand with one leg propped up. And yes, 11 and 1 are towards the front, on either side of the prostate. I'm so happy that you found a pelvic floor therapist who is a better fit! 💙

Hi just had a first go very tight and sore so went gently I have pain in penis, anus , hip and bladder so trying to work out how to treat those areas After I had finished left with a soreness especially around anus is this normal

Dr. Susie Gronski - Doctor of Physical Therapy

It can be normal after stretching tight and tender tissue but should not last for more than a few days. If it did, it was probably too much too soon and I suggest dialing it back to 50%.
