Hi loves,

A community member shared about feeling undesirable and wishing for affection without being labeled “a pervert,” especially when seeking compassionate sex work. His words really touched my heart. 🥺 Lots of linked resources on sex work, surrogate partner, and somatic sex education are included in this post.

Many of us know that ache of loneliness and wanting to feel seen and loved. Cultural messages around masculinity and worth have done real harm, leaving many men feeling ashamed of their needs and bodies.

There are caring professionals—sex workers and surrogate partners—offering nonjudgmental connection, respect, and healing. You are worthy of affection, pleasure, and love, no matter what labels you’ve internalized.

I spoke more about this with Cooper during today’s livestream. You can watch the replay here.

With lots of love,Dr. Susie

Thanks, Dr. Susie. That was really good. Really thoughtful and compassionate. You know, the other day, pulling up to a bagel shop for lunch, my wife and I saw a man walk out of an asian massage parlor, nicely dressed, get into his Mercedes and drive away. She made a remark about these "quick handjob places." It made me wonder...is he a deviant, as people tend to identify such guys, or is he simply seeking a feeling of intimacy and affection? If so, and if the woman isn't being trafficked, or forced into this through economics, emotional problems, etc., is this really any of our business? On the other hand, maybe he should work on himself instead of addressing his needs at a massage parlor. I don't know. I rarely comment here, but this struck me.

Bad things can physically and emotionally degrade a man. No one’s happiness is like another. More often than not, a man’s physical needs impose great emotional risks. The world can be a very cruel place.

Thank you Dr. Susie for your (as per usual) compassionate, thoughtful and educational response. I do recognize that there are other things I should be thankful for and some people have much more serious concerns, so I try not to make it about "naval gazing," but since this site is about exploring the complex aspects of human sexuality, I thought I would share this issue as it weighs upon me from time to time and perhaps some other members might have experienced similar. So again, thank you for your reflection and guidance here and I very much appreciate it :)

Thank you this was very therapeutic, and i realised i didn't realised internally that i was worthy of Love just by being. That's a shift change. Thank you

After losing my wife in 2021 to ovarian cancer, I miss the affection and physical touch. Not only sexual but everyday touch. I go to my massage therapist to treat my lower back and my neck. It’s at a nudist resort. I don’t like the resort but like the spa. I have degenerative disc disease. I also, like the physical touch by her in a non sexual way. I never thought of treating my lower back and possibly my ED as a pelvic floor issue. I just received my wands both bendable and vibration. My pelvic floor therapist she will help me with determining which will be the best for me. I miss the Love of my Life every day!!! ❤️💔

It was her birthday when Clíona passed. We were supposed to grow old together. I still see her family in Ireland. Went to her niece’s wedding in June. Miss her so much. 💔
