If you’re dealing with that sudden gotta-go-now bladder urge, this video is for you.

Bladder urgency is not a bladder gone rogue. It’s often a nervous system and pelvic floor coordination thing, not a willpower problem. Pushing harder, clenching, or rushing to the toilet usually makes it louder.

In this short video, I walk you through simple, body-based strategies to help settle urgency when it shows up. Think calming, not controlling. Retraining, not restraining.

👉 Watch the video and practice along. Go slow. Nothing needs to be forced. Your bladder responds better to safety than stress!

I've struggled with this for a long time. I'm highly anxious, so those "just in case" bathroom breaks is probably what has led to my urgency. It's a very hard habit to break.

OK - lets add some variables to this - I have dealt with bladder/kidney stones in the past - I have been instructed to use the bathroom regularly and drink lots of water to keep the urine less concentrated and not allow stones to form - add in the fact that I had a Urolift procedure (help resolve BPH) to open a larger area around the urethra to also allow for a larger exit path for the urine to exit properly. My issue is that more often than not - I just get the overwhelming urge that I am holding back Hoover Dam and I need to go N O W!!!! I have heard about the squeeze method before and have had some success with that but it just seems that when I get the urge now more often than not - it's that Hoover Dam urge - when I sit in the car the position change helps calm things down but only for a bit - I am also taking time released potassium citrate to help keep my urine much less concentrated which has helped end the stone issue but the Hoover Dam urge still lingers......

Ohhh yes. Bladder or kidney stones can absolutely increase urinary urgency. When something is irritating the urinary tract, your bladder is going to get loud. In most cases, once the stone passes or is treated, that urgency "should" calm down too. That said, sometimes the bladder learns the pattern. It can stay a little extra sensitive even after the original trigger is gone. And if you’re taking potassium citrate while pushing fluids, that can increase urinary frequency and add fuel to the fire.
