I have ZERO interest in watching Coffee Prince, I think it's on everyone's mind cuz of Her Private life. I'm not wired in the manner where i wanna watch a drama cuz we happend to like a character lol...If i was i'd be Vocal about more Kim Ji Won shows or Park Shin Hye...GOATS....I just want to see the next BEST show.In general, I don't want to watch shows from 2007; I came in during the Era of Business Proposal CRISP cinematography. I looked at the trailer...it was from 18 years ago!!!!! yooooooo dont pick that.I dont have the time to research every show you guys pick until it narrows down and i see comments.If i run out of good modern shows , sure, but there is a new kdrama every month...just not necessary right now...but anyways thats that.

lol Coffee Prince has definitely solidified itself in a lot of our hearts back then. I haven't revisited it since I first saw it, and I'm pretty positive I'd have some very different thoughts now after being a kdrama veteran. Fully respect your disinterest, because honestly, I would be too. You just had to be there when it came out. It was a great time, and the cast was solid. Now, it's majorly dated, and it was definitely catered to the teenage audience. It was like Boys Over Flowers for many of us. Goodness, if I rewatched that show today, I'd wanna bury myself. But I still have it on a personal list to rewatch as an adult.

I was going to choose Coffee Prince, but after reading your comment, I get it. As Raeven B. said, It was a great show when it came out, but since it's been so long, the show quality and scenes would be outdated. Lol I only chose this show because I thought you all might be interested in it and there was the element of Gender Bender plus, the cast. Other than that, that's about it! Lol Thanks for letting us know your thoughts about it!

Okay so I just want to say this as someone who watched the drama for the first time last year, I really think it holds up for its time lol. And I’m someone who genuinely cannot STAND old cinematography like I’m sorry. I tried to watch Hana Kimi, Boys Over Flowers, Lie to Me, all the dramas I missed when I was younger, and I just couldn’t. It was honestly painful to look at sometimes editing , writing, pacing,etc wise. But I don’t think people recommend Coffee Prince blindly, it really does hold up for its time, even writing-wise. And for me, as a romance HATER, I was actually shocked that I liked it because it avoids a lot of clichés in a pretty smart way. Like it makes me understood why some people say they don’t make dramas like they used to anymore lol. Sorry for the long message, but I feel like no one is really defending the drama 😂 Obviously I get your opinion and I understand it, and it’s totally fine, we’ll recommend other dramas. There’s so much out there anyway, and it’s always way more enjoyable when you actually like what you’re watching sooo :)))

I agree. It's a classic for a reason. I haven't defended it, because it felt like there was no point after Lee made his personal position abundantly clear (which I absolutely don't fault him for). Maybe one day, lol.

Thanks for saying that! I only watched it for the first time a few years ago and loved it. No nostalgic ties or because of a specific actor, it's a well-done story that is enjoyable to watch even now.

I agree, I think we haven't bothered defending it because Lee stated his position, but that does mean the people making comments have been mostly negative about the show even when they've never watched it. It does look pretty good on Netflix, I checked! And more importantly, it's a show that was extraordinary then, and holds up in almost all aspects now in how it was written. It's a great show, and I'll happily rewatch it on my own now I know it's on Netflix.
