Wow, we get Taira and Azuma huge moment, more Nishi and Yamada, and more depth about Honda. What a great episode!

I relate to Taira like a mf, except that, instead of worrying about making someone else look bad or thinking that people think badly about me, my issue is that I think apathetically from their perspective. I just assume no one cares as much as I would, so I just minimize any interactions and assume that whatever I experienced with them is more impersonal than personal. So if I was with Azuma, I'd think more along the lines of "Ah, she's super kind. She's got a good heart and doesn't want me getting ruined by the rain", instead of thinking that we're actually close enough that she'd care enough to chase me just to give me a damn umbrella to help myself. But it comes down to me not wanting to hurt and overimpose on the other person. Man, this show brings some relatable shit out for sure

Pride and insecurity are 2 sides of the same coin, thats basically honda and nisshi. i like that the show also highlights polar opposites in friendship like those two. Also the little details like Suzuki's hair is slightly dark still since she just dyed it. her whole genjutsu airbending before opening the door, then being a pokemon gremlin as she watched them loll

I like how the writing is taking full advantage of the ensemble format in pacing, archetypes and matchups. I think that many, myself included, like the Azuma X Taira pairing because their opposition is so subtle. The other pairs are opposites on visible levels while it took me a while to figure how Azuma X Taira are opposites. On the surface they seem similar. Both are the cynical, reflective type, with low self worth, for better or worse. The difference is more internal. It's only in the train station scene (ep8) we finally see how they are polar opposites. Azuma is Apathy, with her 'whatever' while Taira is Passion with his urge to call out what is wrong. This also dictates the pacing of their development. The other pairs can mesh as is and grow together. Azuma X Taira are a pairing that need to grow individually before they can bond meaningfully.
