The ancient Magnus bride and Maria The Virgin Witch started off pretty good (Patreon)

I started watching both of these anime with my wife because she picked them.
And I gotta admit…
I enjoyed the story.
The quality is there. The writing is there. The lore development is there.
That’s actually why I thought of this post in the first place.
I was genuinely curious why shows like the ones my wife watches don’t get recommended more often.
Is it because y’all don’t like rewatching shows you’ve already seen?
Is it because people have never heard of them?
Is it because they’re good, but not the type of anime people think of first when they’re suggesting reactions?
Or is it just one of those things where the fanbase is quieter?
You don’t even have to change my mind. I’m not making this post like, “Why didn’t y’all tell me?!” lol.
I’m really just trying to understand how y’all think about these shows, what makes something popular in the suggestion rooms, and why certain good shows don’t get pushed as hard.
Because to me, some of these are better than a lot of shows people recommend and we actually ended up watching.
And there’s no wrong answer here.
That’s one point.
The second point is more about how I choose reactions in general.
Every so often, someone asks if we’re going to react to a certain anime, K-drama, Western show, movie, etc.
And the honest answer is: I don’t always know.
We have limited slots.
And we don’t only react to one type of thing. We react to anime, K-dramas, Western live action, movies, cartoons, music, and whatever else the audience is actually showing up for.
So the reaction schedule is not really my personal watchlist.
Reaction content = what the community wants to watch the most.
Idle time = whatever I feel like watching lol.
And even then, I barely choose because my wife picks a lot of what we watch at home too.
But that’s honestly how I am.
If I’m watching TV with the family, I don’t need everything to be my personal first choice. If they’re happy and the show is good quality, I can usually enjoy myself.
The same logic extends to the channel.
When I’m recording reactions, I’m thinking about what satisfies the most subscribers, what gives the community the most value, and what makes sense for the channel.
That doesn’t mean my taste doesn’t matter.
It just means my personal taste is not the only thing driving the schedule.
So yeah, I think that tells you a lot about me.
I’m really going with the flow as long as the people around me are satisfied, the content is good, and the community is getting something they actually want.
That includes y’all too.
So I’m asking seriously:
Why do you think these anime don’t get suggested more?
Is it because people don’t know them?
Because the fanbase is quiet?
Because they look less hype from the outside?
Because people don’t like rewatching something they already saw?
Or do people just think they’re good, but not reaction-priority good?
I’m curious.
