Yhwach was on demon time this episode Kubo really knows how to write a final villain. This is true despair. We have had all the anime tropes. Training arcs, new powers, friendship teamups, powerups, sacrifices and final attacks. None of it meant anything. A accurate title because this really feels like The End

Just as Ichigo releases his Bankai, Yhwach says "It is for this moment, that I needed you, my son!" He's referring to Jugram's power as he took it to cut down Ichigo's Bankai, I didn't catch that on my first watch. Uryu really did get lucky. It's also interesting, had Uryu defeated Jugram before morning, the almighty would've been destroyed with him before going back to Yhwach, and Yhwach wouldn't have been able to reverse Orihime's rejection. My understanding here is while it's with Jugram, he can only view the future, but with Yhwach, he can actually alter it. Uryu's failure saved Orihime, while saving Yhwach at the same time.

I want to say that Directornasty was right at the end of the discussion in the previous episode. Ichigo has multiple Bankai. In this episode, Ichigo used a different Bankai than in the previous episode. The Bankai was so powerful that Yhwach needed the power of Jugram B: The Balance to take Ichigo's good fortune from the future and change it to misfortune. The reason Yhwach didn't take Uryū's power is that he tried to take it when he was young but couldn't because The Antithesis: Years before the main story, Yhwach used Auswählen (Holy Selection) to strip away the powers and lives of all impure Quincies. Uryū was the only mixed-blood Quincy to survive because the Antithesis and Uryu used Antithesis In previous seasons to Escaping the Cage of Life: His first chronological use. Yhwach throws a small token/medallion outside of Kirio Hikifune’s cage. Uryū activates his Schrift to swap Yhwach's physical location with the object pulling him out and Defeating Senjumaru Shutara: While ensnared by the fabric of her Bankai, Uryū uses his Vollständig and swaps the states between them. This immediately frees him and traps Senjumaru inside her own technique.

That was how the bankai went in the manga it was broken immediately. At least we saw him do something with a bankai in the anime.

Right, Blood Chain (last week, assuming that's the official name), and Tensa Zangetsu are separate Bankai. Yhwach wanted no parts of Tensa Zangetsu. It wasn't explained well here in my opinion why he destroyed, considering they showed him last week dealing with the other Bankai just fine, you'd think they'd make it clearer it's a different Bankai.

Only thing I don't like writing-wise they couldve just said the glove worked but the power came back to YHBH when day/night switches anyway because its his. And show in-between, no one had the almighty, have it think Uryu plan worked. I dont like conveniences of timing.

Yhwach takes the power, as in the raw energy, and the experiences of the Quincy but not their abilities. This is why Bazz-B was still able to use his Schrift, The Heat, after having some of his power taken. This is why we never see Yhwach never using the Schrifts of the Sternritter who have died or who he stole power from. If he could use them he would have, especially before he regained The Almighty, and Ichibe wouldn't have gotten so close to killing him.

Not quite. That first bankai is a different one, and it just resembles his Vasto Lorde form. Ichigo didn't say Tensa Zangetsu, and he used only 1 sword when he released it. The one from this episode is his true bankai, both because it's named and because Yhwach actually respected it (he called the previous one weak)

@s4eab he destroyed it because Tensa Zangetsu is much stronger. Blood Chain is basically his full hollow form
