My question for your dad: What moment in the pain arc caught him off guard the most? He's usually good at guessing what happens next, but I doubt he saw all those character deaths coming (even if it was temporary) :)

What are his thoughts on how this experience will affect Naruto’s understanding of Sasuke? Back in OG Naruto when they fight, there’s a scene where Sasuke says to him “you’ve been alone from the beginning, what could you possibly know about me!!” And he talks about the pain of “losing a bond”, something which Naruto has never felt up until the death of Jiraya since he never had any bonds in the first place. Now that Naruto has felt the same grief as Sasuke, does your dad think this will change the dynamic between them?

Oh man, the show really goes off the rails near the end, the power creep goes crazy, if he can predict the sage of the six paths showing up, the seemingly retcon with how nagato was given his eyes (secretly) by madara before his family was killed and the rinnegan was awoken because of that trauma. Dad has a pretty good grasp on the story and his previous predictions have been uncanny, I think moving forward he will have less luck predicting what’s going on.
