So you know how in Unlimited Blade Works we get an entire episode dedicated to the epilogue, in Heaven's Feel we get 2 minutes LMAO. They glossed over most of this in the movie, but in order to save Emiya, Illya uses the third magic called Heaven's Feel, to preserve his soul after his body dies. Sakura and Rin then find a puppet and contact a famous mage named Aozaki Touko in order to get her to bind Emiya's soul to the puppet

You have GOT to be shitting me. LOL. Did the movies have different show runners than the series? At least they showed enough in the movie to head canon some semblance of what happened

The Fate series has an ungodly amount of mythology and lore that no mere mortal should ever try to fully comprehend. The writer, Nasu, has been exploring the universe of Fate for over over 20 years now. Though I think the characters and his perspective on philosophy is what truly keeps most people attached to the series. I love the Fate stuff that wasn't written by him, but even though he supervises every project, a lot of them just ring a bit hollow in comparison

Sadly this is the end of the main cast's journey. They do appear in other Fate series, but I do not want to subject you to the magical girl anime that is Fate/Prisma Illya

It just comes down to the fact that they had to fit almost twice as much story into 2/3rds of the runtime. They spent so much of the runtime to make flashy fights that they forgot to tell the audience the ending lol

The source material had a "good end" (where shirou's spirit is summoned into a doll) and a "bad end" (where Shirou dies) to this route. The ending of the movie seems to combine the two?
