Halloween - The winner of the slasher poll and boy what a great pick! Thanks to everyone for voting.

Turns out we knew some of the references but never knew it was this film! It still stood up as just as creepy today as it would of at the time. They really captured all the classic elements of what you think should be in a horror movie, deep breathing, lots of screams, blood, gore and a supernatural/unbeatable baddie.

Let us know what you thought of this one and if you think the rest of the franchise is worth checking out!

This is the YT Edit, if you want the full length it should be uploading alongside this!

Much love,

Lauren and Harry

A couple of really cool facts about this film: 1. The film only took about three weeks to film and it had a budget of about $300,000. 2. All of the actors and actresses essentially wore their own clothes for the film. I believe Jaymie Lee Curtis was given something like $100-$200 to spend on her wardrobe and she just bought clothes from a place called Sears that was a huge retailer back in the day in America. 3. John Carpenter wrote the music for the film in just three days. It’s now maybe the most iconic music from any horror film ever. 4. The original Michael Myers mask is just a Captain Kirk (William Shatner) mask from Star Trek that they painted white. 5. The scene where they show the opening to the movie “The Thing” is actually a really cool Easter egg by John Carpenter. It would actually be the next film that he would go onto direct in 1982. Kurt Russell is the lead in that version. Another good film that y’all should add to your list. 6. The original title of the film was going to be “The Babysitter Murders” until John Carpenter found that “Halloween” was available for copyright and he couldn’t believe it. The movie then shifted to have a Halloween tone to it. Perfect alignment of the stars if you ask me! Some pretty crazy little fun facts, considering how iconic the movie ended up becoming ! 🎃👻💀

Michael Myers isn't like a different species or anything. He is human. He is just supernatural in the sense that he is meant to just represent unstoppable evil. So he just is able to survive things in the film better than other humans, like a super-villain. Halloween II is immediately after this. It start's with him running just after his fall from the balcony while the Psychiatrist takes Laurie to the local hospital and the pursuit continues as the Halloween night carries on.

Haha that is awesome, as always we love to get these additional facts! Amazing it went on to be such an epic film and by the looks of it, franchise, from such humble beginnings!
