Got offered this a while ago and thought I'd flip the switch turn of the month sometime.

Basically it charges you on the day you signed up for it, rather than the turn of the month, so you don't have any of those issues where you sign up on the last day of the month and get charged twice.Thoughts?

Very much don't care. If I'm supporting you then I want you to have my money because you're making content that I enjoy and can't wait for updates on. So being charged twice is fine. I would not mind it moving to the subscription model though.

I like flexibility so subscription is slightly better. That said I don't care much, and it doesn't matter much since I am already subscribed. It works a bit better for me to be able to join in the middle of the month. A lot of times when I subscribe it is an impulse right after I get up to present in a story I am reading. If it is monthly I have to consider if I want to actually do it then or wait for the beginning of the next month, that is time to reconsider or change your mind, still the monthly billing probably leads to more predictable income.

My understanding is that Patreon takes a larger cut if you go to the billing cycle on the day you signed up, if that is true, keep it on the 1st, if it is not you should do whatever is most convenient for you.

I like the "When I subscribe" option for when I decide on the 29th that I want 10+(or whatever) chapters, but don't want to pay for two months just to get a few extra. I voted for "When I subscribe", but I know everyone likes to have a paycheck they can count on, on a regular basis so do what you want. TLDR: You need a whatever option on this poll. Like specifically "Yes", "No", "Don't care".

I think the subscription billing is mostly for new patrons. That said, I’m a fan of it.

Doesn't make a difference to me at this point, but I feel like it might get you more subscribers so I say go for it

This is mainly an issue for when initially joining. What really should happen is prorating the remainder of the month. I don't really care what day I get charged. If it all happens at once, it's just easier.

I really don’t mind either way but if you do move to subscription can you do it at the start of next year instead of the end of this one? another author I subscribe to moved to subscription last month and it wanted to charge the full price for the year in September…

I think it's more fair for new people to make it a subscription, but for me it doesn't matter.
