Book 2 cover Rough draft feedback (Patreon)

So, Here's the rough draft. We're probably gonna do one more revision, then call it good. The artist sadly couldn't fit Mass Driver in the picture and still have space for Heather and Perry's expression to be visible in thumbnail.Give me feedback! Then scroll through the feedback you like, and heart the stuff you think sounds like a good idea. I Personally like the background and posing but want Heather to be more aggressive/animated.Perry looks a bit too much like prof. X, lol.Lemme know what you think!

absolutely, but he's never read the series and only has reference pics to work with, and I only gave him 'super suits' and a pic example of a heather lookalike dressed in something similar to what they're wearing now. Basically any issue with them is my fault for not being specific enough, lol

I think a fix is to adjust things slightly. The hand being higher so Perry appears to be scratching his head in puzzlement, and a slightly less "focused" expression on his face. Otherwise it looks solid as hell.

Mass Driver can fly. It wouldn't be hard to stick him in the background, standing on a light pole, a pair of feet dangling into view, whatever.

I like it! The one thing I'm not really sold on is the outfits, shouldn't perry be in his suit and Heather in... I think it was the not spandex she wears?

I wish Boomer was more visually interesting. Right now he's a pretty similar color to the background and blends in, in addition to being kinda generic looking. Perry wearing his mech suit with an open face plate and heather wearing a more classic looking super hero hyperweave would be some nice contrast, and hopefully pique peoples curiosity. If i had to nitpick, those are the things that i can think of.

I agree with what others said: Heather should be a bit sassier and their mech/super suits should be a bit brighter so that they contrast with the background more. Otherwise pretty solid

Not what I was expecting but it's growing on me. I agree the expressions, especially for heather, are a little bland and would like boomer to pop a little more. Thanks for the great work

The one thing is that I don't really get a 70s vibe from the background. It'd be a bit too much to put a disco ball or smthng, but maybe a classic diner? In general, I feel like people imagine the 70s as more 'vibrant', so I would keep the subdued colors for the characters in front and make the back more vibrant in various ways

No, please. We already have too much “guy is a moron, needing to be kept on track by his female teammates” material In fact, I think *Heather* needs to be more intense here, as well. Less “I’m lost”/“This way, idiot”, and more “I’m making battle plans”/“This flank needs to be reinforced”

Basic off the cuff suggestion, Heather should be taller in my eyes, just barely shorter than perry, maybe make her face more angular.

perry looks a bit too much like a generic male fantasy protagonist. not sure why, but im guessing the sharp jawline and the haircut?

I first thought Nat/Boomer was a mouse girl climbing rubble. It took me a minute and a zoom to make out that "no, that is Nat performing service work on her mech."

I have to agree with some of these others. The character design is wonky. Heather needs to be more animated and not look so demure. Perry looks like Prof X, yes, but he also looks like he is trying to pick a fight across their map, and his stance is weirdly wide for map reading. Maybe cup his eyes to help see a sign a ways off? Boomer ought to stand out more as part of the foreground. And as you know, outfits. The map is a nice touch to have backward, upside-down is always fun, too. Better still the map looks so yellowed with age, it appears to be printed on vellum. The background works for me as what it is.

I agree with a lot of what’s been said here. I almost feel Heather should be hanging off some maybe a light pole off frame, stretched thin, holding the map upside down even with Perry so you see them in contrast something like the Spider-Man kiss, but turn and holding the map instead. I really like the background but maybe something more ionically 70s, maybe a hippie van or something along those lines. As for Nat, it would be funny if she were sitting on Boomer‘s foot looking at the two of them a little closer in frame, maybe have her with; an adore ” I love the two of them”, look on her face.

I think we've seen her described as having a round face... but it's too late to dig through old chapters.

I think even slightly altering the eyebrow shape and angle you can change Heather's vibe. Look how Perry is giving brainy and low key mean because he has vulcan/elf brows.

I like most of the suggestions but i want to stress that I want the armor to be slightly more super suit and less body armor. and it really shouldnt match right?
