This was quite the set-up episode and a great way to start this season! You know, I've said this before, but I'll keep saying it, and that's just that the intense sense of *"what's going to happen next?"* is very real in this show, and it's one of my favorite things about it. Who will make it and who will be sent home, I have no clue, but I can't wait to see. The thing with the eleven players needed for the game against the U-20 is that, yes, only 11 players can form the team, but they *have* to keep reserves, right? Just in case someone gets injured mid-game or something, is that a requirement in soccer? I have no clue of the rules of soccer, but that just makes sense to me. REO AND NAGI ARE MY CURRENT OTP AND I LOVED ALL THEIR STUFF THIS EPISODE. I know, it isn't like there were tons of stuff going on with them, but I eat up every crumb we had. Seriously, I need them to talk because Reo continues to be so smitten, and I need Nagi to understand just how important he is for Reo. Bachira and Isagi being, yet again, on the same team has me very excited as well. Now, who the heck is this "David Bowie" dude because he looks well older than 20 *side eye* Of course he would heterochromia, though XD Oh, the art style is so good! I love the thicker lines we're getting, it just fits the show so much. And it was so funny how they made the Japan's soccer... director, or whatever he is and the U-20's coach look so clearly as the villains of the story *lol* Over the top? Sure, but it was funny so I'll let it slide ;) P.S. I'm so happy I get to watch this show alongside you because I feel that you're the one that makes me truly appreciate it and understand it. It'll be a fun couple of weeks <3

Peak episode, everything is so fun and exciting. I don't want to say too much, but I suggest that you can check the second selection teams on 1st season last episode, so you can know/remember which players know each other!

Loved the reaction & discussion! Still can’t believe we’re fully back! This will be so excellent to follow along with you. 🥰 Our darlings have returned and we have so many new darlings to get to know! 🥰 Love the new look for them all and the different approach to lightning. Bachira and Aryu were looking especially great. And I really hope we get more of these extended additional times at the end of episodes. “Quit doin’ your dirty ballet in there!” “Ryusei is going to light a bathroom on fire and Rin is going to report it.” 😂 Also, I won’t stand for Lemon slander – he was fine as a goalie! He wasn’t that terrible. 😂 Every JJBA mention is therapy for me. 🥰 Cannot wait for next week! 💙

What an exciting start to the season! Ego's back at it again with these creative rules for this selection. Great reaction as always! There's a new director and a few other staff changes for season 2. And I'm loving what we're seeing so far! The whole episode looked beautiful. Also, I love the detail of the chibi character icons being colored in instead of being all white like in season 1. It makes them a lot more readable. Hoichi Seiji, the U-20s manager, is voiced by Toshihiko Seki - Muzan (Demon Slayer), Iruka Umino (Naruto), Sahad and Pluto (Pluto), Wing (HxH), and Musashi Gouda (Body Improvement Club president from MP100). Also, "Hoichi the Earless" is a Japanese ghost story.

Thanks for the comment! If I get a chance, I might re-check the last episode before episode 2 starts, so thanks for the suggestion! :D

Thank you so much! It's crazy we're already back back back again! There are so many new characters and I do love the animation and lighting for them! I'm excited for the Additional Times as well! The LEMON SLANDER - it crushed me! How dare you, Raichi! The art style and "dramatic" ness of Ryusei reminds me of the little I know of JJBA...for now! But what a diva! Haha, thank you for the comment and kind words!! I can't wait, either!

SUCH an exciting start! Ego is SO creative with this whole Blue Lock process - let a school administration hire him to design some assessment projects! XD Interesting that there’s a new director! Nice! The episode looked gorgeou sand I really liked it! And the chibi designs are also adorable too! Ahhhhh, also, way to get a major VA player to play the manager of the *U-20! And good to know about the ghost story connection, there! Thank you for the kind words and joining on board as moderator again! I really appreciate it! Can’t wait for tomorrow!

DEFINITELY a great set up episode indeed! And yes, the best part of the show (or one of the best) is the uncertainty of who is staying and who is going - because we know they all can’t stay! And that is a point about the reserves…I’m not sure if Ego would make the current U-20 the reserves? That’s a good question – maybe to give us hope? Hahaha!! Reo and Nagi are SUCH an OTP and I love them in this – I’m so rooting for them! And yes, I was eating the crumbs as well! Reo is still smitten and Nagi clearly cares for Reo, but these two need a heart to heart at some point, I agree! I love Bachira and Isagi alongside Rin! And yeahhh, the one guy looks older than 20 but who am I to judge? He looks crazy, too, which…fits Blue Lock! I honestly love the thicker line style with how it fits the “DRAMA” of the series! And yessss, the over the top theatrics of these two U-20 mangagers - I guess they are good foils to Ego’s…dryness! It’s good, though, I agree! Ahhh, thank you for the comment and kind words! I am SO excited to have this series this fall and to dive in with you all! Thank you!
