Jiji has been possessed by The Evil Eye and is on a rampage to destroy Momo and Okarun before turning on the rest of humanity -- can the two of them team up to take him down? Well, maybe...but first: We have to take care of the Mongolian Death Worm, right?!

This episode definitely proved why I love DanDaDan as a series and why I'm so excited to see what this season gives us!

20:00ish you mentioned never seeing a male character putting his faith in a female to save the day. while I agree that is true for most, one show does stand out for it's amazing, knowledgeable, dependable, strong, FEMALE main character. I am referring to Slayers main character Lina Inverse. The strongest magic user of her day, Lina has no problem taking on the gods themselves if it means fame and fortune. She does have male and female companions, though they have varying degrees of competence. without spoiling too much, there is even a point where her male sidekick is willing to loan his prized family heirloom weapon to Lina so that she can slow walk towards the god of darkness and stand against him as an equal. please watch slayers if you haven't yet.

Watching previous season I was wondering why they choose Ishikawa Kaito for Jiji instead of Miyano Mamoru, because Jiji seems like a character made for Miyano Mamoru, but hearing him as a Evil Eye makes me understand why. He sounds so good! Ishikawa Kaito is nailing his character both as a Jiji and Evil Eye Jiji. I also like that girls get a chance to be useful and strong just like boys in Dandadan. Seiko is very knowledgable and stron, Aira who has Acrobatic Silky power has a very good combat abilities and Momos power are so versatile - she can work as both support and middle range fighter and works very good as a combo with other people because of supporting ability. Mama of the Kito's family also is considered strongest person in the Kitos, and Turbo Granny, who is also female, is a very strong, feared youkai. Even if she is currently in a manekineko form she is still very useful thanks to her knowledge, observation skills and manekineko's luck. And Okarun is literally using HER power to fight. It's nice to see that more and more battle shounens has female characters that are allowed to fight and actually BE strong and useful and respected by male characters for their abilities. Of course Okarun wants to keep Momos safe because theyre friends and he likes her, but he NEVER downgrades her combat abilites, intelligence or usefulness in a fight. And he relies on her a lot. I also think in this moment Okarun may relate a little bit to Jiji, because in the beggining of the story Okarun's body also was "possesed" by Turbo Granny and he didn't control himself. He know the feeling. I was in the cinema on this and also was kinda shocked that they endend in this moment, hahah. But I get that the "movie" works also as a promotional material for people to watch the season on Netflix. The more I watch the ending the more I like it. I like opening too, but the ending with them dancing and Momo smiling happily is just so good.

I LOVED this episode so much! One of the things I've really been wanting to see since the beginning was Okarun and Momo working more like a team, and both of them showing equally their strengths; and, sure, we have sort of gotten that, in the sense that neither of them has ever been completely passive, but I do think this is the first time that Okarun took the initiative so decisively and he wasn't only following Momo's lead. I don't know, I love seeing both of the in their elements. Yes!! Momo having to figure out how to save both Okarun and Jiji, and Turbo Granny though. They all play their roles, trusting that the other will accomplish their part of the plan, and I love seeing it. The use of color in this show is something that I have already praised in the previous cour/season, but it bears repeating; because that slow change as the tide of the fight was changing from Jiji's purple to Okarun's red is so good. One thing that I found interesting is that the volcano is about to erupt now. See, after the reveal of the Mongolian Death Worm, I had assumed that the Kito family had gotten everything mixed up and mistaken, and the volcano had never been that big of an issue... but seems like that is not quite the case. I have no clue was going on there, but I like how everything is a little more complicated than it first seems. With every passing episode, I'm more and more convinced that Turbo Granny secretly loves Momo and Okarun, and is doing everything in her power to protect them; if for no other reason than those big teary eyes when she saw Okarun come back for her (yes, I'm weak to the big, teary eyes xD) and the way she sneaked into the trip in the first place *lol* Too bad Okarun's plan ran into quite the little hiccup.

As someone who likes my cryptids somewhat realistic i enjoyed that it was just mostly an animal... although it does stray quite far from "real" Mongolian Death Worm lore. But hey, Nessie was an intergalactic mercenary that could spew out pressurized water at such a high speed it became like laser weapon of mass destruction... so this was quite close. :P The lightning in the volcanic eruption is a real thing, there are some really "metal" looking pictures and clips out there.

I wouldn't say "never," (that's an English teacher no-no for me) but I don't see a LOT is what I said - or didn't see many growing up. That's cool about Slayers! I remember that series coming out long ago, but never got into it - maybe one day when I get time (cries in busy) I'll check it out! Thanks for the comment!

Ooh, that’s a good point - I totally like Kaito as both the Evil Eye and Jiji - it really works perfect! And yes, I’m all about equity between male and female characters in a series and this show is giving me what I want! 😀Momo is definitely versatile! 😀I agree; there’s a plethora of female characters in this show and they all work great side by side or alongside the male characters! Your comment is SPOT. ON. And ooohhh, that is a fair point about Okarun relating to Jiji as well! Yes! The “ending” of this episode being such a cliffhanger really is smart marketing - I would be completely sold on the season and ready to watch if it were me in the cinemas! The ending and op are so fun this season! I’m all in - thank you for the comment and kind words; I can’t wait to see what DandaDan gives me next!

This episode was so much fun! I love watching Momo and Okarun work together! I love that idea that this is the first time Okarun has taken action and not been as passive! I love Momo getting the spotlight as well in trying to use her strategizing and strengths in this fight, too! The color is soooo good – especially when the focus was on Okarun and Jiji, I agree! The idea of the volcano and the Kito family and not knowing what all was going on and who’s telling the truth in all this - I know I’ll have more to say this coming week, but the show builds up the mystery and “case” very well to keep us guessing! And yes, Turbo Granny is our ultimate tsundere in this because every show needs one! 😛I thinks he’s developed a soft spot for them as well! Her big teary eyes were SO CUTE! I was hook line and sinker in to save her in that moment! Just…of COURSE Okarun had to goof…well, I guess we’ll see how it goes! Thank you for the comment and kind words!
