My brother and I are back and what a fun episode to get back in on the One Piece Live Action! My favorite set piece so far and an action-packed episode that also has us moved - I'm starting to see a pattern, here! Let's dive into this romp at Whisky Peak!

Whisky Peak Saloon is a song I've had on loop pretty much since it dropped a few days before Season 2 premiered. It's so fun! A really nice and energetic new feature for my workout playlist. Something really fun this episode is how there were actually 100 Baroque Works agents for Zoro to defeat at the saloon. Apparently, Mackenyu has said that he insisted there were exactly 100. I love the dedication each member of the cast brings to this show. As much as I loved this episode, seeing Ussop follow Sanji with the twins bothered me so much xD He has Kaya back home! And in the LA, unlike the anime/manga he and Kaya are pretty solid after that kiss. I was just going "what are you doing" the whole time, *lol* Igaram dying is WILD. I felt that a lot more than I did Merry in Season 1. The detail of Luffy trustin Vivi because his gut told him he could trust her is so nice. I don't think we start seein how Luffy has the knack of just knowing if a person is actually good or if they're bad until much later in the anime/manga - maybe around Water 7 - so to start to see it been something that Luffy displays made me happy. I was touched, and surprised by the way that Mr. 9 stayed loyal to Vivi even to death. It also made me feel a little bit bad for him. I mean, when we see Vivi say it to him it definitely felt like she was just throwing him off her scent and making sure he believed the Ms. Wednesday charade, but it clearly meant a lot to him. I'm not saying that Vivi wouldn't have defended him if she had had to, I'm sure she would have because she's a nice person, but I don't think the allience was to the same degree for the both of them. And it made me really want to see more of Mr. 9 only to have it cut really short really soon. Igaram's hair canons are so iconic and it was awesome that the LA kept them and did them justice. It's such a ridiculous weapon, but so perfectly One Piece.

This is the second time I’m watching the series. I swear, every episode I just bust out in tears! As far as live action anime/manga adaptations, this is up there! The only other ones that are good I can think of are Alita and Speed Racer by the Wachowski sisters.

My brother has cried every episode of season 2 so far since Episode 2, so you know it's emotional! Ooh, Speed Racer's live action adaptation is GREAT! I will stand by it! I need to see Alita, though! Thank you for the comment!

Loved the reaction and discussion as always! I'm so taken by this show and its cast! If they ever build a Whisky Peak Saloon / One Piece theme park (they totally should), and it doesn't feature that sax solo/song in it, it just wouldn't be right! That song is everything, highlight of the episode for me. Interesting to hear the discussion over the LA ending at a set point and earlier than the anime - which probably is a good thing when none of the cast are even possible anymore, I guess without CG on them all the time, what with their gears and everything... I don't really understand all that yet! But even if they had it set to go to Marineford it's always possible they do some stuff out of order (ahead of that) or throw in a few bonus scenes I guess! We'll see! The casting is INSANE in this show. I can't even believe how incredible and natural most of the actors and actresses pull off these insane characters and bring them to life! Looking forward to more reactions!

Thank you so much for the kind words and comment! The show and cast are SO PERFECT, aren’t they!? The Whisky Peak Saloon should be something to visit - what a set piece! The song is such an ear worm! And yeahhh, there’s so much left of One Piece; we’re just at the start, but what a great season so far - the casting is the best of any adaptation for a manga/anime I’ve seen so far - it’s so good! Whisky Peak is an EAR WORM! It really needs to be on a workout playlist! Zoro ACTUALLY going through the 100 people is great with Mackenyu’s dedication! But yeah, WHAT ABOUT KAYA?! I am glad it was a short scene, because Usopp is a loyal man indeed! Yes! Glad I wasn’t the only one thinking about that too - thank you! Ooof, I’m not ready for Merry to go! That’s going to be so sad!! Luffy trusting Vivi is so sweet! I like that we’re seeing this type of behavior from him so early on as well. And to get me to like Mr. 9 more, too, like you said - the loyalty angle with him was great! I really hope we see more of him and that he’s not actually dead. Though, with Igaram’s death, it was so iconic – bringing him back like in the manga might cheapen that moment for me. I love what they did with the wig guns, though!! So perfect and like you said, so One Piece! Thank you so much for the comment! Really excited for what’s to come!
