Ayyyyyye the best game in the series has started 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼 Lol my favourite thing is how we all collectively still call Chris and Tetsu's year, "the third years" even though they havent been the third years for like 6 months already 😂 OUR GREMLIN BATTERY RETURNS. Ugh they're the best. I love that we have so many gremlin moments that we can put them in a collage lol. I also love that even though Furuya is easier for Miyuki to understand, he knows Sawamura well enough at this point that he can tell hes trying to carry the team because of Noris injury. He wants to push them past this game so Nori can play again and I think its sweet that in that moment, Miyuki was able to calm Sawamuras nerves and remind him that hes not carrying the team alone. That Miyuki is there as his PARTNER. Ugh the best ship honestly. The moment where Mochi gets baited... dead ass looked like he was looking at Amahisas ass lmao. I think its also nice that although we know Miyuki puts a lot on his shoulders, in any team, the captain AND THE ACE work together to lead and carry the team so thats just an additional partnership that isnt just pitcher/catcher, but also captain/ace. Sawamura never wants to let Miyuki carry everything himself either. Miyuki canonically only ever wins against that Ichidai captain for rock paper scissors lol. He won against him in the spring too but every other team they play, he loses 😂 If you rewatch or reread this series, one of the things thats hilarious to note is how much Mochi HATES Amahisa from the gate. He has never just given him the benefit of the doubt lol. Hes always a hater and if he ever showed up to request Sawamuras hand in courtship, Mochi would become a murderer for sure lol. Im so glad they went full out in making Hoshida look like the terminator lol cuz in the manga they really went for it and its so funny every time. THAT SHOT OF MIYUKI IN THE PREVIEW IS DEFINITELY WHAT YOU THINK IT IS. I CANNOT WAAAAAAAAIT. DONT LET ME DOWN PRODUCERS!

It's that time again, eh? At least I'm on time this week! As I said in my comment for Episode 5, I had completely forgotten what Kataoka would do in regard to Kawakami. He definitely did the right thing, even if it doesn't feel like that to Kawakami. Also, the whole situation reminded that there are baseball patents out there who want their coaches to overexert their kids, because the think Tommy John surgery will make them better players later on. It's sick. Moving on to the match, wow, you can tell that they saved the good animation for the semifinal! It is fantastic. They also used what I feel is an older animation style that harkens back to Act I. And ~~all Miyuki's love rivals~~ everyone's here: the Sawamura's sans his mother, Wakana, Nishino, the old 3rd years (including Chris and someone else who looks suspiciously like him, too). Honestly, the rest of the episode flew by. Both Sawamura and Amahisa were on fire. A couple of standout moments were Sawamura's speech, and the ensuing "I don't like that little speech at all", and Kuramochi versus Amahisa. I was so happy Mochi got on base, then he was picked off. Just one step too far. Oh, and I definitely think Sawamura is a prodigy. Only two years ago in manga time, he was a country bumpkin nobody. Seido gave him the opportunity to let his baseball instincts shine. See you next week!

I’m SO hyped for the Semifinals!! And ahahaha, right?! The group will never be known as “The graduates” - they will be “The third years” forever. Miyuki? Third year? Absolutely not. THE GREMLIN BATTERY – I just love that opening scene with them! And yessss, Miyuki sensing Sawamura’s sense of responsibility and jiving with it – I love Miyuki working to calm his nerves! The Best ship, indeed! And a great note about the Captain/Ace relationship!! HAHAHA, I wouldn’t blame Mochi if that were the case with Amahisa! Amahisa is an attractive looking guy. I also love that Mochi just DOESN’T like Amahisa AT ALL - that is “brother-in-law that’s also jealous for the guy trying to make a move on your bro” behavior through and through! Hoshida being so menacing in appearance and then he’s just a dude that sleeps with his bat, is hilarious! AHHHHH I AM SO HYPED FOR EPISODE 7 – I’m trying to not get my expectations too high (I feel the fandom has ramped up THAT MOMENT so much) but I’m excited to see it animated! 😛Thank you so much for the comment!

Yay!! These weeks are flying by! I agree, Kataoka did the right thing - both in the short and long term. That is DISGUSTING that parents are expecting coaches to overexert their children…oof. Nope. Not having that at all. I really love the animation and what they’re doing for this episode! And ahahaha, Sawamura’s cheer squad and Miyuki being jealous ahhahaha!! He is doomed. The episode went by so fast! I love how on fire Amahisa and Sawamura were – the “I don’t like that speech at all” was a PERFECT follow up to Sawamura’s sunshine speech! And man, Mochi flew too far to the sun – Amahisa in that moment was amazing. Poor Mochi – he’s going to definitely support Miyuki in his dislike of him! And that’s a great point about Sawamura – shining after only two years when given the chance? Rei really is MVP of the series! Thank you for the comment! Onwards!
