And it's over. I almost can't believe. This season was so good. The whole cast plays each character perfectly, and I think they understand their motivations really well. This season, however, the higlights for me were Ussop, who actually had the start of a character arc that I'm hoping they will follow through with and develop more; and Sanji, who never ceases to impress me with how Taz makes him a genuine gallant and charming gentleman. More to the point, that moment between Sanji and Nami, with Sanji explaining why it was so horrible for him to see Nami so sick was absolutely amazing. It's so fun to see, all through this season really, how having so much OP content helps this show feel so big and connected. Because previously we don't get anything about Sanji's backstory, that very much should still affect him, because I'm pretty sure Oda hadn't thought it all out yet, and it just wasn't revealed at the time, but now we know it and it can be used in the most devatasting ways possible. Ace is probably the next character I'm super excited to get on screen. They announced so early his casting that I was actually surprised that he never appeared this season. I was half convinced that he was going to make a cameo, much like Dragon and Sabo, at some point. Alas, we just have to wait until he finally makes his debut. "Whisky Peak Saloon" is my favorite song from this season's track, but the three songs were really fun. The composer Sonya Belusova has actually shared some details on YouTuber about the creation of the main three tracks - Whisky Peak Saloon, Pray to the Sun, and Am I Enough - in short reels, they're really fun to get a little bit of the behind the scenes into all the thought these songs got. (Here's the link to the Whisky Peak Saloon one! https://www.youtube.com/shorts/Fb3_r07KaJ4) From the trailers I wasn't too worried that the quality of the show would drop this second season, but I'm so very glad that it actually didn't and that it actually got more fun. I can't wait to see what they do as the show gets wackier and wackier.

I can’t believe the season is over but yessss, it was so good! My brother and I loved this season and the cast was SO GOOD! Honestly, I think Sanji is my favorite this season – Taz makes him SO GALLANT AND CHARMING! Usopp got to shine as well and I love Sanji and Usopp’s moments with Nami – more bonding! I love that they’re including later info from the show at this point to help us connect more with the characters; it works surprisingly well in the live action and I wasn’t mad at it. ACE! Ahhhh, I’m so excited! His debut is so fun and would be the perfect way to start Season 3, so fingers crossed for that! “Whisky Peak Saloon” is such a catchy song, along with “Tony Tony Chopper” – thank you for the information and the link as well! The series is definitely going to get wackier and I’m so here for it – and agreed, the quality did not drop this season, which was so fantastic to see. RIGHT?! I always liked Chopper but he REALLY won me over in this season -- the live action did so well with his character and now I'm so excited to see how they bring other characters to life! Thank you for the comment!
