What amazing entry for June!! Again I can’t believe I haven’t came across this in all of my years. There’s still a few bl series I haven’t watched but I like to think I’ve at least heard of all the animated ones. The world building, different art styles and colors were all so vibrant and creative. They were definitely making use of every second and panel to showcase this story. Sucks that there’s no additional content to look for. But yeah the use of Toyohi’s photo wall in the shape of the world map was neat & then ofc panels of their dates! It left us wonder about what could possibly go through their heads at the moment… color me impressed. I am happy that we had just enough time to introduce our two love birds and resolve (mostly id imagine Kashima considering working weekends still) the miscommunication & leading to a better place for the both of them. I have faith with those two together- they’ll do just fine. Although I will admit I wasn’t sure if I was as gonna be as invested in them in the first episode because I was worried they may have gone the route where they filled each other like missing pieces but no! They really do compliment each other. I guess I was thrown off when Toyohi said he liked/loved him the first night they meet ahsjfnfjfnfg. Can you really be so sure in one night XD. Glad they reunited in the end and opened up heart to heart 🥹❤️ I know that transition to hearing a train pass sunk your heart a little like it did for me 😂 I was trying hard not to think about what they could have done. Phew- it was nothing. 🎶 Can we go home now? It’s getting later, baby. Can we go home now? You think it’s time to give up? 🎶 😤 KASHIMA! you’re not just worth something because you’re amazing with magic. It’s your dedication and commitment that wooed Toyohi. It’s definitely intentional that he’s in charge of the crisis management… division(?) when in every other area he struggles 😆 I’m sure he’s been holding himself back with that mentality. It even took him to such extremes where he passed out from utter exhaustion. Ugh I just wanna hold him and make all the bad thoughts disappear. Thankfully Toyohi helps him address it. Hopefully one day we get more content of these two. I’ll keep my fingers crossed but this was really delightful. Loved the reaction and discussion! ❤️ and thank you Sunspot for another wonderful commission. Looking foward to the rest of June 🌈

Loved the reaction and discussion! Happy Pride! 🌈 So happy to see how much you enjoyed this little series. 🥰 I absolutely adore and respect how much beautiful world building and character work we get! Astonishing, to be honest. I mean, we get: the whole set up of the world and how magic works in terms of mechanics AND industry, Kashima’s relationships with his colleagues (both peer and juniors), Toyohi’s interest, Kashima’s doubts and internality, a bit of plot and a bit of drama, romcom cuteness… and all in about 25 minutes of content?! Not a single wasted frame or line of dialogue! 🥹 Sobi Yamamoto is such a talent, I adore her. 🥰 Various things I loved: “Love you! Bye!” Toyo certainly knows himself 🤣 And Toyo’s reframing of things, like the idea of ‘not getting a reply’ becoming instead ‘aww, you’ve been thinking about me all week?! Success!’ Genius! 🤣 That bartender is The Best 🥰 “Bitch, you can teleport?!” 🤣 and then an episode later “Why didn’t you teleport to the reservation?!” 🤣 Loved Death Parade coming up, I absolutely see how the vibes of that bar drew that comparison and especially how much it felt like a safe space. 🥰 Now, themes of resistance? Dense! 😆 So much is presented around the ideas of purpose, talent, ability vs meaning, drive, etc. But most of all I love how they show Kashima starting the series settled in the kind of captivity his natural gift has created, how he feels so deeply that his only worth is his magical talent, that the resistance here is almost entirely internal. That moment of him wondering ‘who’ told him that he wasn’t worth anything beyond his magic and realising it was mostly himself (!) – that was so powerful to me! And seeing him confront this entirely new idea that he is someone beyond just being a “function” or profession. The fact that this tiny series gives us enough depth to present this line: “You are so greedy. Wanting to be loved for more than the one thing you are good at.” and have it make perfect sense for Kashima?! My goodness, the creator has such a full understanding of Kashima, it’s beautiful to watch. 🥹 And I love Toyohi as the opposite to Kashima, good at many things in a way where the abundance of all those possibilities just created drift and probably alienation. He is everywhere and therefore nowhere, so his resistance is actually to decide to stop running for once! So when he finds Kashima, who is a little magical singularity, he gets to unravel him in a way. 🥹 I imagine their relationship as full of healthy communication in the future. And I would absolutely watch a whole series or read a whole manga of their adventures and this world. 🥰 Damn, I could go on and on about this 25 minutes of content for so long it is a bit ridiculous... 😆Your journey through this work was a total delight, thank you so much! 🥰 Looking forward to the next entry! 🌈

Happy Pride! And yessss, I really did fall in love with this little series! They really did not have to give us SUCH a completely set up mechanical world of magic, Kashima’s relationships, and all the other character work interlaced with the plot – and in 25 minutes for it to be so complete? I just adore it all. I want MORE! I am a sucker for opposite personalities attracting like with Toyo and Kashima! Toyohi is such a great foil to Kashima and the perfect person to help highlight all his good qualities. And seriously, healthy communication in romance? YES, PLEASE. The bartender is truly the MVP of this series! If I had teleportation powers - WOULD be using them nonstop! Death Parade vibes are TOTALLY in the bar and in the way that everything felt “enclosed,” but not in a bad, claustrophobic way. A safe space, exactly! It’s wild how much content fits itself into this short amount of time but I really love the growth and journey that Kashima goes on to accepting himself and his gifts as not a burden but something to enhance his own qualities and self-worth. The creator really gave us a fully fleshed out character and romance? So talented, indeed! I would read or watch a whole series of this in the future! I hope there are more series like this and the mermaid one – they could totally be Januyaoi additions in the future!! Thank you SO much for such a delight for Pride month to be included on the channel and for the comment and kind words!!

This June has had some FANTASTIC entries! And yes, this was so great — I can’t believe I hadn’t found this for Januyaoi in my five years of doing it! I think this was such a fully fleshed-out series! I wish there was a way to have more with this series; it’s that good! I love all these little details in this series – it’s so awesome and impressive to see. Kashima and Toyohi are such a cute couple and I love their dynamic! Toyohi being the “love at first sight” type was a bit surprising, but with such a short series, I can see that needing to be the case to start the relationship off well – I’m glad they communicated as much as they did, with such a short amount of time to work with. I will cross my fingers with you for future content on this series as well! Thank you for the comment and the kind words - Sunspots hit it out of the PARK for this one!! Here’s to the rest of June! 😀
