"We'll go back to Rhast" Oh boy, I feel scolded. I enjoyed their story in the end. You will too but can't say more cause spoilers, of course. Sang Jingxing isn't just a rapist. He is a sadist, and a rapist. It's so much worse than most people comprehend because of the words and the way the book phrases it is so casual. It's one thing for him to rape, but then he tortures them as well. He basically says he 'rapes them to death.' He talks about skinning them alive. I agree that words have meaning and strength and we shouldn't censor those things. Probably don't read this one out loud, even if you agree, but up to you, of course. I'm just passionate about these kinds of crimes. I really really dislike Sang Jingxing, and wonder what did he do to Bai Rong? Even Yan Wushi cant escape Accidental Child Acquisition. Shen Qiao is a single mother now, and Yan Wushi is already cracking. I loved these chapters. We learn so much about Shen Qiao and the Zhuyang Strategy. While the last couple chapters were 'ok' these really wrapped them up wonderfully. I like Shen Qiao more than Xie Lian, and do feel like he's an 'older brother' I dont think he realizes how romantic he sounded in the last line. Oh, Also, Kunye's dead, and I'm happy/ok with it.

Shiwu and Shen are SO FREAKING CUTE!!!! I love that they're both like, "Hehe, I have a dad/son now. 🥹" I like to think that Shen Qiao is so paternal to Shiwu because that's exactly how Qi Fengge was with him and that's who he takes as a role model and example of a good shizun. It sucks that Shen Qiao and Shiwu were separated so soon, but what we got was super sweet and wholesome. 🥹

Volume 2 wrap up … crazy that we re already here and we ll be diving in uncharted waters soon enough… I freaking love Shen Qiao 🥰 he is such a relatable character in so many ways Granted his forgiveness level is something i might never reach nor do I want to , but his resilience and kind of steel under silk persona is absolutely AMAZING to watch and follow.. no wonder Yan Wushi is so puzzled and flustered about someone that doesn’t correspond to his data about human nature 🤣🤣 Chiwu is the cutest bean, i m so proud of him and absolutely in love with his father/son , disciple/master dynamic. I m just wondering how will Daddy Wushi react to his single parent Shen Qiao status now 🤣 Thank you for a great re read along and discussion.. so excited to start Vol 3 again with you 🥳

I LOVE Shiwu and Shen in these chapters! It’s adorable their relationship that’s developed – and YES, I agree that Shen Qiao is like that because of his relationship with Qi Fengge! At least we got some good moments in this chapter set with them together. Thank you for the comment!

I’m so excited to be getting into uncharted waters! Yessss! And yes, Shen Qiao is so wonderful; relatable and inspiring! I don’t know if I could reach his forgiveness level, either, but I love his resilience! Steel under Silk - such a good way to say it! And yes, Yan Wushi’s fascination is warranted here for sure! Love Shiwu as well – the father/son dynamic is so wonderful to see unfold in the novel; it feels much more organic than the donghua! And ahem…yeah….definitely curious how Yan Wushi will react to all this with Shen Qiao adopting a son! Thank you for the comment and I cannot WAIT to start Volume 3!

I definitely think I would like Hannibal based on that! 😀Fair point! Hahaha, definitely not scolding, though! 😀I’m glad you enjoyed the story, though! Yeah, Sang Jingxing is terrible, to the core. Ew, indeed. Yeahhh, it’s giving me Ramsey Bolton vibes and I’m not here for it. At all. And yeah, I don’t even WANT to think about what he did to Bai Rong, but I’m glad she’s strong enough to move forward despite it. Shen Qiao a single mom and Yan Wushi cracking – things are heating up for sure! I really liked these chapters a lot! We learned things, we got hype with SQ and honestly, this chapter set has me SO excited for Volume 3 – and RIP Kunye. Fine with that as well! Thank you for the comment!
