I am in love with his father, Sheng, and there is so much to talk about in terms of connections and the timeline so far -- this latter half of the season is shaping up to be GREAT!

Yeah, Little Johnnies' story is so sad. It makes me so heartbroken for him. His theme song is my favorite song from the whole show, and it's always stuck in my head for a long time when I hear it. Sheng having the power of healing, and still not being able to heal his wife is the epitome of tragic. But I do love how resilient he was for his son. How he didn't drown in grief, but was a happy, emotionally open father for all the years he had left with Little Johnnie. Often times, in this type of stories the dad becomes close off, but I like that that isn't what happened here. Look, as weird as this might sound, but I ship Sheng and Ghostblade quite a little bit. It's just the idea of what if they had raised their kids together, and the idea of this silent man learning to be a little bit more emotionally there from Sheng while being better understood and supported by a partner that won't shame him for his shortcomings, and of Sheng having support from someone that will be devoted and capable of protecting their family alongside him that really does it for me xD Aside from that, I just love how with each episode things connect a little bit more and we fill in some blanks, that's a lot of fun. Though, there are still a ton of questons left unanswered.

After Ghostblade tragic backstory Sunshine Little Johnny’s heartbreak city of a backstory This was an amazing heartbreaking episode… poor baby lost both parents before his eyes.. i love both Shang and Little Johnny’s resilience after the mom’s death as Alexandra pointed out.. Big Johnny’s presence in Little Johnny’s life literally anchored him and gave him a purpose he mimicked by watching his father having a purpose in raising him after his beloved wife passed… Vortex is so cocky and i m not a fan of him, but he almost seems like he has a crush on Shang and can’t let it go 😅😅 (sorry my shipper mind is always meddling 🤣) I loved the reaction and discussion so much Onto next episode

Heartbreaking backstories back to back!! It’s wild! I feel so much for Little Johnny and how hard Shang worked as a father to take care of his son after his wife’s death. T_T I love how Big Johnny gave Little Johnny purpose in life and helped him control his grieving. And yes, I’m not a fan of Vortex but HE SO HAS A CRUSH ON SHANG – you know I’m going to be talking about this…ahem, next week for sure! 😛 Thank you so much for the comment and kind words - so ready for next week and beyond!

Little Johnny’s backstory is so heartbreaking! And the tragedy of Sheng having healing powers but he can’t heal his wife!? TRAGEDY to the final degree! I love how he made the most for Little Johnny! He was such a great father! And no, it’s not weird, I can Totally see the Sheng x Ghostblade ship! Ugh…the idea of NuoNuo and Little Johnny as stepsiblings is such a cute idea! They really could have worked as a pair! What might have been, show!! Yes, I agree that everything is starting to come together, but there’s still so much left to go!! It’s so exciting, though!
