Late comment but better late than never! Im honestly so glad they had a flashback to the Shirakawa deadball. I think its really important to acknowledge that trauma like that doesnt just go away because the initial issue was solved. It'll probably always pop up in his head as he plays baseball. And i think its also super nice to see Miyuki making changes from what he did last time. Last time, Miyuki didnt walk up and talk to him after the deadball and really regretted it after so this time he made sure to go see him and it worked! I also love that they had Miyuki repeat the same thing he initially said back in episode 1 "lets slay the monster". Whos gonna pretend Miyuki isnt sentimental while he remembers that exact moment lol FINALLY OUR PRETTY BOY PITCHER TALKED. Pretty boy, moody pitcher now. Its so sad to me that he feels like he still needs closure. He was always so easy going and casual about baseball but to see him SO effected is really sad. I absolutely love the scene with Amahisa and Manaka. Him acknowledging that he really is a fan of Amahisa is so sweet. Im sure eventually he'll appreciate Manaka talking to him. God its so funny that they blast through the Inashiro game lmao I remember in the manga we were all debating on how many chapters theyd spend on it, we landed on 2 or 3, and they zipped through it in 3 PAGES 😂😂😂 The scene of Amahisas text to Sawamura 🥹 its so cute and so sweet and i love the respect they both have for eachother. They really included Kaneda in the plans for the pitchers in this final lol. Im so sorry but that boy would get smoked 😭 I think its really nice to see how well Kataoka knows his players with the way he only reassured Miyuki that they still had Furuya and not to stress about giving a run away. He knows Sawamura wouldve taken that personally and it wouldve made him upset but Miyukis more pragmatic and can handle that type of reassurance. Im fully on board for Shirakawa hate crimes lol. Mochi definitely made up for his failed steal in this game. Like by ten fold. Im so glad he got so many moments to shine ALONGSIDE his little brother getting his time to shine too! The reason they sit out their aces in some lesser games is to rest their arms for the harder game. If Amahisa had pitched the last game, he would've been way more prone to injuries and wouldve played way worse lol. ALSO ITSUKI IS A SECOND YEAR. Hes in the same year as Sawamura. He was on the team last year with Harada, he was just the backup catcher. He went to koshien, just didnt play lol. Here comes the start of the communication arc! Cant wait for the angst 😬😬

I can't believe there's only one episode left for this part of the season! And I do apologize for not keeping up. Real life has gotten in the way so much. Hopefully others will come after Episode 13 airs. There's never too much AotD! These episodes, from 9 to 12, have been amazing. The best since the middle of the second season of Act I for me. I lost track of time for each one, and couldn't believe they were finished so quickly (and that they almost all ended on cliffhangers). The building frustration, in particular with Miyuki and Mochi, of not supporting Sawamura by scoring, was one of the stand-out points. Mochi's delinquent attitude whenever he faced Amahisa were always a blast, though. And he and Haruichi arnd Shirasu coming in clutch at the perfect time led to two incredible moments: The first, Ryo acknowledging that Haruichi is an offensive threat in addition to being part of the keystone combo. And the second being Mochi scoring and jumping into Miyuki's arms. These episodes were really a shipper's paradise. :D And then Miyuki finally hits and makes it on base. Maybe the possibility of Sawamura using casual speech with him motivated (although I wonder what Sawamura thinks is more casual than he already is!) Or maybe the motivation was Sawamura going to the bullpen and being in Miyuki's line of sight. I mean, really. The shipping potential was off the charts. There was also Miyuki's use of partner, in particular the use of "aibo", which Miyuki has never used with anyone else (and I don't think has been used since way back in Episode 2 of Act I). Then there was Miyuki's thought of Sawamura's pitching "taking them into the future". Foreshadowing, much? I was really surprised that the match ended so early in Episode 12. I was sure there would be a cliffhanger for the final pitch. They also got me with that HBP, which I completely forgot about. But this time, Sawamura had the external support and internal strength to move past it and settle the match, with the help of Mochi's magnificent catch. I'm looking forward to the final episode, and them leaving us on *that* moment, like a shojo manga. And hopefully we get some information about the second part of the season sooner rather than later. Heyyy, I’m just now getting to these, so that’s totally okay! And yes, I totally agree that it’s great that Sawamura has that callback and shows that he’s changed since then – it’s just always so hard seeing that moment, so I had to crack a joke! 😛 That’s a great point on how Miyuki has changed since then! I forgot about that! Also, don’t think I didn’t notice that callback to “Let’s slay a monster” in episode 1 – so good!!! I feel so bad that Sanada believes he needs closure – it’s sad to see him this affected, when he’s always been so chill and “go with the flow” with everything! Amahisa and Manaka’s scene was SO GOOD. I just loved their interaction! I really think that Amahisa will take motivation from him and this talk. AHAHAHA – now that you say it, they really did just POWER THROUGH that game with Inashiro; I’m not surprised, though. I mean…they were NOT going to beat Inashiro, but to get that bashed? Oof. I love Sawamura and Amahisa’s respect for one another! Their dynamic is just so good! And hahahaha, Kanedaaaaa, right? That’s about like saying, Asada would work, too! 😛#KanedaShade Kataoka is such a good coach; I love his strategies at this point in the series. And Shirakawa deserves the hate crimes! XD Mochi getting all the moments he did in this game was so satisfying, as well! That’s a great point about the sitting out of pitchers – it was just an observation about how they were sit out and then lost the games they were in next. But at least they were trying to help keep the pitchers safe! AHAHAHAHA, I think I meant to say that Itsuki is a second year, meaning he was a year younger than Mei. It just came out as 1st year. Thank you for clarifying that! And ahhhh, I’m not ready for the “staircase crisis” arc and moment! But also excited for episode 13! Thank you for the comment!!

It’s WILD that we only have this one episode left before our break…ugh. And Noooooo, NEVER feel like you have to apologize! I check comments even *years* after series have been on the channel, so whenever you got a chance to get to talking about what you wanted to say, I’d be happy to read them! Life so gets in the way a lot! I hope that folks binge this cour and enjoy the reactions and discussions! It was so worth it - I agree, episodes 9-12 have been stellar! They just went so quickly! Definitely binge-worthy! I really loved Mochi and Miyuki’s arcs in this game alongside Sawamura. And how both of them just LOATHED Amahisa, hahaha! I loved all those moments you talked about in this, too. And Ryo acknowledging his brother? LOVE that. And Mochi jumping into Miyuki’s arms? The series is just sailing so many ships! XD I am glad that Miyuki finally gets his hit and on base. And Miyuki is fooling no one with that use of “Aibo” aka “partner” – he knows what he’s doing, even if he doesn’t realize how the shipping has become so obvious at this point for us the audience! And seriously, the foreshadowing! Miyuki wants to keep pitching with Sawamura into the future!! Yesssss. I love that Sawamura was able to move forward from this HBP - I had forgotten about it, too, but glad he didn’t stress like he did last time. Ugh…THAT MOMENT, THOUGH - I’m not ready for that, honestly!! I’m also hoping we get that info on the next part of season 2, so we shall seeeee!
