Uhh you’re not alone in preferring zombie stage over alien stage xD The ANGSTTTT omg In the comic, Luka's fingers are still purple :( In the alien stage, it was implied to be because of his poor health and poor blood circulation. So I wonder if the same case is in high school AU as well? That he's still of poor health :(( makes me sad for him. But on the other hand, the purple fingers are pretty, so not too sad :P His dynamic with Huyna seemed interesting too. I really wish to get more of it, I'm so curious. What has happened in this HAPPY HIGH SCHOOL AU to make Hyuna be mad(?) at Luka, or at least she's acting somewhat standoffish with him. Mizi’s singing is a lot more nasally and higher-pitched than usual, and people online were commenting that it might be because, as K-pop idols, they’re usually forced to sing a lot higher a tone than is natural to them. I personally don't listen to K-pop, but that’s what I saw people commenting around on twt when this episode dropped. And it seems to go in theme with the whole “how the entertainment industry forces you to change” aspect of Mizi’s character. What she becomes doesn’t seem to be any different from the zombie she ended up as. The only difference is that as a zombie, she seems happier. Fucked up as that is. My personal interpretation/theory of the “if their brains are zombiefied, how are they learning and singing lyrics and dances.” Is that since they were both idols (or an idol wannabe for Sua), they kinda have these songs in their subconscious memories from back when they were alive. And now they’re just on some form of autopilot. Personally, I think that Mizi has no agency or thoughts left in her zombie brain, unlike Sua, who seems to have something left there. (not a lot, but a tiny bit more than Mizi) As we can see, Sua keeps acting with more “intention.” Mizi just sings and dances with no breaks and does nothing else. While Sua seems to also reach towards Mizi. To hold Mizi’s hand, Sua keeps looking at her. She even takes the initiative to grab Mizi’s jaw to kiss her. So I wonder if things like "obsessions" or "strong feelings" might stay even when they become zombies? And if so, we could think that maybe Mizi had lost all of them when she got "destroyed" by the Idol world, and that's why she's so much more of an "empty machine on autopilot" compared to Sua. The fans giving her flowers scene actually, it’s actually Sua giving them to her. Sua gives Mizi the flowers, and Mizi immediately hands them off to the Staff guy, giving Sua a “gentle” smile and turning emotionless. I think it’s trying to say that Mizi is starting to see Sua as just “one of the fans” or at least treating her as such. Also, the flowers were Clematis, a subtle hint to their round1 in the Alien stage I don’t think that Mizi is bisexual because of the one comic where she was clearly grossed out by the prospect of getting it on with a guy. And on a personal note, I do think that this video and its message about Mizi being sexualised for the male gaze hit a bit harder when she isn’t even interested in the men. While I think that their feelings were shared, and they were happily in love before things went to shit. In every kiss scene, it was always Sua taking the lead. You could even argue that Mizi couldn’t consent to any of them. The first one, as children, Mizi looked surprised; she clearly didn’t expect it. The second time she was a tied-up zombie. And third time, while both zombies, Sua is holding Mizi’s jaw to angle her face for the kiss. It adds SUCH a nice layer to Sua’s “devotion”. Just because they’re lovers and girlfriends (or so we assume) it doesn’t necessarily give her the right to do it. Especially as not once in this video does Mizi show her anything that we as viewers could assume to be consent or even a sign or requited feelings. Even as they were holding hands, Mizi’s fingers were all limb and Sua was the one gripping her. I assume that losing isn’t the end for them. They will just chop off a body part (i.e., Mizi’s eyes that we saw in the middle video) but not all of them. And then lock them up until their next performance. And that’s how they keep going forever. This comment is kind of a ramble; I hope I made sense lol. But anyway, zombie stage made Sua my 2nd favourite, sorry Ivan. But Sua took it out of the park. Sua is SOO in her yandere era, and I STAN!! The moment she was staring down at the tied-up Mizi, I was all like “oh OH!” Never was I more attracted to her. Go queen!! Toxic doomed yuri for the win. Though it is doomed if they will be together forever? :DDD

I am DEFINITELY a Zombie Stage fannnn! Sorry it took so long to get to your comment - waiting on the mods! 😀 But yes, the ANGST! That is really sad about Luka and his health in this…it does make me feel for him, too, even if it was aesthetically nice. And yeah, I’m VERY curious what we will get with him and Hyuna in this series! That is FASCINATING to hear about the nasally tone with Mizi’s singing and how it relates to K-pop idols. And ohhhh yeah, the “change” based on industry fame is about as on the nose as it COULD be. And the scary thing is…IS she “happier” as a zombie, or is she just…brain dead and being exploited? Oof. Messed up, indeed. I totally can buy the “autopilot” brain theory with them learning the songs; that would make sense! It’s really sad because I agree, I think Mizi is just a zombie with no agency left (since most of her face is zombified) - but it also makes sense with Sua having some agency left. And yeah, Mizi is on autopilot completely, while Sua has some reasoning with her movement. I agree with all your observations, here! That’s so sad about the flowers and their connection to Alien Stage, as well. I honestly could NOT remember if Mizi was bisexual or not – with all that with Til and him crushing on her. But yeah, I totally get your point through the male gaze, which is what I noted, too. That is also a great point about Sua having the “control” in the kisses each time. Those are GREAT observations with their relationship! That is also HORRIFYING about them just continuing this cycle of performing and then getting more pieces of themselves auctioned off. Oof. I loved the rambles! Thank you for the comment and I’m so glad Sua got more content in this video and YANDERE era indeed! Toxic Doomed Yuri is for sure what we got in round 1, but yeah, is it doomed if the video says “Happily Ever After?” 😛
