*TRANSFORMATIVE HEADPHONE WARNINGS*

Last volume, we watched Itadori suffer the loss of his mentor Nanami and bear witness to the murders committed while Sukuna had control of his body. NOW, he faces Nobara's fate and Mahito threatening to destroy more of what he loves...and our boy reaches a breaking point! I've enjoyed Mahito as a villain, but him getting shadowed by Geto at the end -- there's a lot of bittersweet vibes this volume, y'all!

Thank you for watching with me and for all the support!

This is Mahito's volume for sure... and not in the way he was expecting xD Seeing that flashback with Nobara's childhood and then her friend at present time always breaks my heart. Gege really just wanted to destroy our hearts. I'm glad that we at least get Todo to counteract a little bit of the heartbreak; although that didn't last long because he ends up losing his Boogie Woggie. I mean, he did a difference against Mahito, and I guess that's important to acknowledge, but it still makes me sad that we can add that to the increseangly long list of things the Shibuya Incident has taken from us. Honestly, the fact that Mei Mei was in Malaysa, the place Nanami wanted to go is to cruel from Gege. Mahito was such a great villain, for real. He wasn't just a lot of fun but the rate at which he grew was genuinely frightening. He was constantly learning new tricks and evolving in ways to torture people, and enjoying it, in ways that Jogo or the rest of them just didn't have. If he has been allowed to remain in the story he would have been a force to be reckined with. The little interludes between chapters with Gege learning all the ways his math didn't check out are hilarious. I love that he did that.

Right?! Mahito was the star, to be sure! Gege really does stomp on our hearts – that flashback with her was so cruel. And THEN, to let MEIMEI end up where Nanami wanted to go? “When I find you, Gege!” *shakes fist* And Todo was at least a great contrast, but I’m sad he lost his Boogie Woogie. 😢But he was crucial to Mahito being defeated – but yeah, Shibuya is NOT messing around. Mahito was a fantastic villain! Fun to hate and a scary threat in how he evolved over the course of the series – he definitely could have gotten OP, or Yuuji would have destroyed him, so Geto/Brain-kun had to step in! Gege on it with the writing! And yes, I loved all the little side extras with Gege learning math for his manga, haha! Who’d have thunk!? 😛 Thank you for the comment!
