It's been a year since I've talked about SVSSS and I was NOT PREPARED for this set of "extra" chapters! But in the BEST WAY!

Is this my favorite part of the series, now?! What does it feel reading MXTX after reading other danmei? How has MXTX changed the tone of characters after a decade away from her first novel? All that answered in this video!

AAAAAAAHHHHH!!! I was hoping you read this one day! I love how you're reading Shen Yuans lines but it just sounds like you're asking your own questions. You sound so mad and offended that Binghe knew. My feelings on it: It didnt bother me. He knew that his Shizun was 'a different person' but it's not like he knew he was a transmigrator from our world. My only problem with it is that Binghe should have SAID something and they could have talked about the Abyss, but both of them were awful about talking. Believable, but I have to stretch that Binghe never asked about it. Airplane and him talked in English and used modern slang around Binghe and he never asked? But then, I can see him being that dumb too. And Shen Yuan is so oblivious. It only works cause they were both SO STUPID, which is in character for them I guess. I would argue that Binghe did show that bit of his old self. He tells Shen Yuan, "I'm grateful for the abyss because you're too nice to ever leave me after that." At least, that's how I took it. That line was that tiny bit of creepy and manipulative that I knew from him. It made him nicer and more mature, but he's always going to be a little obsessive.

These extras were so necessary. It felt like it was finally wrapped up. All questions were answered even if we had some plot armor reasons.

I really loved this. To me it was like,,, the perfect epilogue to Scum villain. We got to see Binghe, healed from his trauma. Shen Yuan getting closure about the world he left behind. Lore behind the system and the *why* of their transmigration. In general, reading these extras felt like the best ending this story could have gotten. Especially with how much more mature the tone was. I think that Binghe knowing that Shen Yuan was a transmigrator from the start does fit the story. Because looking back, even when he was mad at sqq he wasn't really focusing on how sqq used to treat him bad. He was always just "you treated me nice, then you threw me away and now you won't even look at me." he didn't really touch on the part that sqq used to mean to him before being nice. (unless I misremember) And it does fit in with the fact that LBH never really questioned SQQ's activities with SQH. Like their slang and all that. So it fits with the "you never told me so you probably didn't want to speak of it" aspect. I do wish it had been a bit clearer in the original story, but some people did theorise about LBH knowing the transmigrator thing since the start, so maybe it was more about me just not noticing the signs. I loved the Mosahng moment. Mafia boss Mobei LOLOLOL and SQH trying to get MBJ to call him DAD?? i was so :SOB: Him tryna be a self-proclaimed dad to Binghe is one thing, but him tryina be MBJ's daddy is another :sob: Also FINALLY!! Learning SQH's real name as well!! I loved binghe meeting sqq's family, so sweet and lovely. heartwarming. About the lack of sex, if I remember right. Apparently this was released in the new releases of the physical Chinese releases, which are censored versions. So the extras were to follow a similar "no explicit romace/sex only suggestive bromance." I may be wrong on that tho. Tho I can't say I mind it, this was so tightly packed in good stuff that I wouldn't change even a sentence of it for smut. But anyways, this was so good. I just love svsss; despite its rough edges, it's still my fav MXTX novel. So these extras were the ending I needed for them.

Ooo yay! I never got around to reading these in full! I love cumplane and moshang interactions. I think you’re so valid in feeling that LBH feels different. Feels like got a prescription from Mu Qing fang for anxiety and depression lol. I think that perhaps one of the few traces to his prior personality I can point to is that line about being grateful for being pushed into the abyss. It shows off that darker side.

“It’s apples and oranges, and this is a kiwi.” That made me laugh! I might have to start using that in my own conversations, lol And poor SQH. He so badly wants someone to call him Daddy and absolutely nobody is having it 😆 I was so excited to see you post this, and the experience did not disappoint! I myself hadn’t gotten around to reading these new extras; so much on the ‘to be read’ list and so little time, you know? I previously felt kinda bad about that, but waiting so long meant I got to read it for the first time alongside this video. That was really fun! The way these extras so perfectly wrapped up the original story, with both MXTX’s writing and LBH now being more mature, it was all so heart warming! I’ve done some hobby writing myself over the years, so her afterward about looking back on her first novel after 10 years hit me right in the feels! I hope they eventually do an official translation of these and put them in a little novella or something so I can buy it and put it with the rest of my volumes. The story doesn’t feel complete without it now! Thank you so much for the video!

My favorite part was Mobei Jun saying he thought Proud Immortal Demon Way was decent when he saw how attached Shang Qinghua was to it. It’s nice to see him be doting

I am SO glad I finally got around to this!! Honestly, I feel I connected a LOT with Shen Yuan when I read SVSSS, so I can see how I inhabited his character while reading this! 😀 I am 100% in the mindset that it’s not that Binghe knew, it’s that he didn’t SAY anything and then was really defensive/harsh to SQQ at times, when I’m like, “Dude, if you knew…why are you acting that way?” Again, those were irks I had with the series as a whole, but I’ve moved a bit past them since reading initially, haha! I do agree that Shen Yuan could be oblivious at times, too! I can see shades of the old Binghe in this – but the transition is SO contrasting compared to the text, it feels like AGES have passed and it would have been nice to see more of that transition in the actual text and not “assumed” but it is what it is and I’m still glad I read this! "Cumplane" as a ship is....so cursed...and so hilarious! XD I'm glad I got to read these, finally! AHAHAHAHAA -- Mu Qing Fang gave a prescription for anxiety and depression! That is genius and okay, if the system or MXTX had that in here, I would have laughed my head off and accepted it as canon outright! I agree - this was a fantastic epilogue to SVSSS! We get healing, we get closure, we get LORE to the system – yessss – love that! I agree, definitely the best ending we could have possibly gotten to the story, overall. I……still kind of think it’s a little clunky that he *knew* that SQQ wasn’t really SQQ but never mentioned it or tried to find out more when he was betrayed. That’s my personal preference, though; it’s totally cool if folks are okay with it! I’m side-eying MXTX pretty hard, there, but that’s her choice as the writer and I’m not disrespecting it. I agree 100% with you - part of my criticism is that I feel it NEEDED to be more clear in the actual story, even if it was just a glimpse or a blink-and-you-miss-it moment. The MoShang Content, though? LOVED ALL OF IT. I cannot with SQH and his “Daddy Kink,” hahaha!! He’s so ridiculous and I love it! And getting SQH’s real name is a great additional bit - I almost forgot we hadn’t had it before!! Also, Binghe connecting and bonding with Shen Yuan’s mother was really sweet and endearing to his character, and was IN CHARACTER for him, so that was really nice. I loved getting more with Shen Yuan’s sister as well; she’s such a real one. Oohhh, interesting on the “no romance/sex” note on the extras - I’m actually not mad at it here – I think it’s still so good without the smut; it doesn’t “need” it here. But that’s interesting to know! I really loved these extras and am so happy they’ve been added canonically to the story! Thank you for the comment and the kind words!!

SVSSS is the “odd one out” in comparison to MXTX’s works, but glad the “Kiwi” comparison works! But yeah, SQH having a “daddy kink” is WILD. SIR. I love that no one else is having it! XD I was so excited to get into these and finally read them! I’m glad you found it fun as well! Yes, I agree, they wrapped up the story so well – and yeah, MXTX has a way of writing afterwords that are so thoughtful and heartfelt; they just get me misty-eyed, too! I wouldn’t be surprised if they released these in SOME capacity as a companion to the final volume, or heck, just re-released the final volume with them included. #capitalism But I agree, it does feel like this is the “proper” end to the story!
