I actually think Eren Kruger is seeing Grisha's memories on the wall. The two main reasons are 1) Grisha says almost the same words as Eren Kruger does here before he gets eaten in volume 3 ("If you want to save Mikasa, Armin, and everyone else", that part is word for word the same in Japanese) and 2) most memory transfers seem to be to the titan immediately adjacent in the line of succession, more distant relations are more uncommon. But I think I'm a minority in this view, and more people think it's from one Eren to the other Eren.

That's interesting! That could be that it's Grisha's memories reflecting onto Kruger -- it WOULD be neat to see that line of succession represented in that moment! Thank you for pointing that out and the comment! :D

Yeah, i wonder how much Eren understands he is "destroying" his friends with the path he has chosen. If i was about to die and a friend said they could save me i would be onboard, but if i then found out it would take the death of billions of people to accomplish i imagine i would no longer wish to be saved... and also think it a bit presumptious of them to do that on my behalf.

EXACTLY -- that is basically the simplified view of my hours-long rant on the recap hahaha, but yes, I don't think Eren is aware of how much it's destroying his friends choosing this path...but hey, maybe when they catch up to him, they can let him know! *nervous laughter and tea-sipping as we dive into the final volumes* Thanks for the comment!
