Bluesky/PixivHomura will go to any lengths to protect Madoka, even if it means flattening her and locking her in a drawer of all places, against her will. Madoka will have a long time to think things over while she's there.===============================================================An Explanation (For Those Who Need/Want It):Puella Magi Madoka Magica is an anime about a cat-like creature (The only one ever seen in it is called Kyubey) that goes around searching for girls and is willing to grant them a single wish by forming a pact with them. In exchange, they must become magical girls that fight witches. Homura is a character introduced within the very first episode and she is already a magical girl by this time. She is eventually depicted going through great lengths to protect the titular character Madoka from witches as well as prevent her from making a contract with Kyubey.===============================================================About the Piece and My Thoughts:This is basically a similar concept that I explored with The Guardian, but instead of an obsessive personality (Tharja) flattening others out of jealousy to keep their obsession (Robin) to themselves, this is an overprotective person (Homura) who chooses to keep their loved one safe (Madoka) by flattening them personally and locking them away where they can always be found. Obsessive or overprotective characters are both very easy to work with for flattenings too!Interestingly, although the models had shape keys for expressions, their mouths didn't come with any textures specifically meant for them. So when I opened them up, all I saw inside was gray. Thankfully, this was an easy, manual fix on my end.I wanted to try something a bit different this time around with a bit of folding. Originally, I was going to fold Madoka more, but keeping her like this made it seem as though she was quickly tossed into the drawer by Homura. What did stick around though was the fact that I just knew that I wanted Madoka's eyes to be peeking up at Homura as she sealed her away. It was all about positioning this time around. Hopefully, Homura doesn't bury her under all of her other clothes and forget that she's there!===============================================================Extra Notes:You know what this reminds me of? A drawing that someone made where Homura turns Madoka into her panties and she comments that she'd never lose her again that way. Also, there's an actual scene in the anime where Madoka gets stretched out by a witch and she's saved just in the nick of time. I know someone made a drawing of that scene, but with Kyoko instead. Anyways, I've seen my fair share of work done for this series, but I wanted to add something of my own to it. I feel like most of the attention for TFs is actually on Homura.===============================================================References/Fun Facts (For the Curious and the Easter Egg Hunters):- Almost all of the lines that Homura says in this piece are actually nearly direct quotes taken from various episodes of the anime. Madoka also does often address people with the honorific chan.- The font used for the letters is the exact same font used in all of the official artwork and promotional content. At first, when I downloaded it, I thought it wasn't working. Turns out, that was because the font can only be typed with capital letters because well, it only has those.- The setting is loosely based off of a location Homura was shown in briefly while she was creating her own bombs. I added the potted plant for the sole purpose of sprucing up the render's scenery.===============================================================Credits:Characters: Homura and Madoka (Puella Magi Madoka Magica).
