Content

For this week’s second poll, I want to ask about a possible direction for future enemies, transformations, and corruption content. Until now, most of the game’s creatures have been based on more classic fantasy and mythological monsters, such as goblins, minotaurs, ghosts, vampires, werewolves, nagas, kappas, and similar creatures.

However, with the current story involving Spinel (Yarel) and the evil cult, I feel like there could also be room for stranger and more contemporary horror-inspired creatures.

I mean monsters inspired by modern internet horror, Backrooms-style entities, strange original creatures, urban legends, or creepypasta-like concepts.

We could also have creatures inspired by that kind of modern horror atmosphere.

I think this could be an interesting addition to the game, especially for cult-related content, corrupted areas, strange dimensions, failed rituals, or more disturbing transformation scenes.

These reference images are not mine. They were taken from the internet, so full credit goes to their respective original authors.

Poll question:

Would you like to see more modern horror-inspired creatures in Zendaria’s Corruption?

Feel free to explain your answer in the comments, especially if you have ideas for original creatures, cult monsters, strange entities, or modern horror-style transformations.

Hope you all have an amazing weekend! See you again this Sunday. Love u all! 💜

Yea but make them incredibly rare to make them feel like anomalies

Taton

I would prefer more Bimbo or Goblin related content over this. This "horror" tf would be ok as an easter egg or as part of one quest, but these sample images don't appeal to me.

Mario Ritter

Everything except smileyface. Creepy, but would break immerion by making me laugh too hard.

Void Butterfly

While I do think more "normal" fantasy creatures with maybe variations or twists made of them should make up much more of the game and world, I am open to the idea of more horror themed creatures and creepy stuff being added also, provided it doesn't overshadow everything else, is overall pretty rare, doesn't suddenly turn the game into a horror game with jump scares etc (though am also open to more psychological horror like stuff), actually fits the game or is made to fit, and not be too "immersion breaking" they should also not be just a 1 to 1 copy of the original and have some type of fantasy twist or just be kind of inspired by them where possible to help them fit in more. For example with the images you provided I think they all could be fine in game with some slight modifications except for the smiley face one which I don't think will fit at all and would probably be a bit too much no matter how you try to explain it in game.

Hunt

I think that it would be a good idea, but I agree with one of the other comments saying they should be more like "anomalies". Like a random rift transported a wendigo to Velmora. Or something so powerful its able to bleed into other worlds without the intervention of demons.

kevhead

I'm in agreement that they should be anomalies, making them more isolated minibosses or unaccountable road bumbs for us and the cult.

Saitama 452

Yes, but mainly have them in a special area, like you get told to head to the backroom of the vortex club or something, and wind up in the horny version of 'The Backrooms' and that's where all the modern stuff is, and once you complete said area you'll appear in the vortex club's actual backrooms, with a magic circle on the wall and the box with the item you were told to head back into the backroom to get, and when you come out, you'll mention how it took you a while to get the item when you went back there, when it turns out, you didn't even take a couple minutes in actuality, spooking you and your party a bit, and since theres that magic circle on the wall you can head back there to activate it and re-enter 'The Backrooms' and on the re-enter there's more monsters than the first time, and more varied, you could even make it so the re-enter is unavailable when the area is introduced and update it later with new stuff for the re-enter.

Arkven

Leaning to no, at least if we're talking having them showing up in the same places as your typical fantasy creatures, if you put them in an abandoned hospital or warehouse or whatever and the inside looks modern? Then yes, do them in there, make it a whole questline if you want to write erotic horror, that could be neat

BlightedOne

I'd certainly like more variety. My only thought here is that the transformations need to fit the scenario. So the cult having horror themed creatures makes sense, especially with the style of the cultists we've seen so far. That said, I do think most areas should focus on more traditional fantasy styles to fit with the established lore so maybe keep any horror themed TF to say cursed valleys and cult hideouts. Looking forwards to what you come up with.

I voted yes because you should be able to do what you want in your game, but agreed with Taton below in that it should be used as flavor here and there and not overwhelm the game. I believe one of the recent new bad ends (failing the lake quest) fits this criteria well, so you’ve kinda already done it, really….

Owen Kaz

Honestly? Up to you completely. Having them be a rare encounter like so many request would work I guess. However, Have the cult open a portal or do "Something" That causes them to start spawning/appearing would also be interesting. Up to you!

xkira1995

I am for including the variety

PantherPilot

As long as there aren't overly silly creatures, I'm fine with it.
