Forward unto April! (Patreon)

Hello all! I hope you are all well. I wanted to touch base with you as we breach into a new month to share some updates and goals with you.

March went pretty well as far as development for Chapter 6. We're sitting at around 35k words. I have begun writing part 3 of the chapter, which is probably going to be the chonkiest bit. This is the section that contains most of the heft for your MC's time at home and I anticipate lots of coding, but some possibly huge developments with relationships to the ROs (maybe not all good?).

During times where the writing isn't flowing so well, I am working on copyediting the earlier chapters. The focus is purely on spelling and grammar and any other noticeable issues I can find as I comb each passage. So far, I have completed chapter 1 and found lots of little goofs! I also decided to adjust some coding. Eventually, I will patch the demo which will fix some existing issues in Chapter 5 and put these other fixes through. (This will break saves, but ideally I will have skip function at the same time).

Another creator, the lovely Lou Roth, informed me of a writing challenge for April. Since I am making a heavy push into Chapter 6 this month anyway, I thought I should give it a go. It's a pretty relaxed challenge; I don't have a word count goal necessarily, but I would like to see part 3 of this chapter done by the end of the month.

I have a fun bit I would like to include in the chapter where your MC can get a sort of "tarot card" reading. Ideally, I'd like this to be as customizable as possible according to your MC's choices and feelings and what they ask the cards. The coding for this could be tremendous if I did everything with it that I wanted. There will likely be some version of it in the chapter, but it remains to be seen how in-depth I can get. And, I can always go back later and work it out more (perhaps with actual art for the cards too)!

Which brings me to the next topic. March did not yield a character artist (at least yet, I suppose there is still a tiny bit of time left). This is partially my bad. I've been overthinking it, and I've never commissioned art before so my mental wheels are spinning. But I am still waiting to hear back from a couple of contacts who I found recently. So, fingers crossed for April on that! The hope is to have art for all of our ROs as well as some side characters (maybe even the mounts too). It just depends on what I can get worked out. I also want to work with an artist (doesn't need to be the same one) on the curse marks. There are a couple I wouldn't mind changing the actual design for, but overall, I'd like to at least have a better-quality graphic for them.

And finally, the April extras are moving right along as well. If you have not seen, April will be featuring the MC's fathers for both tiers. If Daddy-Spice (the forgotten Spice Girl) isn't your thing, not to worry. I am writing a short NSFW extra which will feature Oswin solo (he is typically the most popular RO, so I figured he's a safe bet). The spicy story for the dads has some sweetness to it as well, so I will post a version of that with the spice excluded so you don't have to miss out.
