Distant bokeh. (Patreon)

To maximize the out of focus area pleasantness (commonly called bokeh), you have to use preferably longer focal lengths, and it is important to leave plenty of space between the subject and the far background.Unfortunately this is not possible in small apartments, where you have to place the model against the wall.
You need plenty of space!Ideally you should use a 300mm lens on a tropical beach, but in Italy you can do a pleasant job with a 100mm in a garden. This Contax-Zeiss Planar T* 100mm f2 is still one of my favorite lens, and in this situation it is giving its best, foreground, background, and on AIM herself.I have plenty of new lenses and cameras to play with in 2026, but this old love of mine is NOT going to be forgotten, just pushed in a corner to make a glorious comeback in the future.
Like this photo of AIM from September 2022, I have left it in a corner for 4 years (with all the rest of the shooting), but it was just a few clicks away, and now it was the right moment to dig it out.
