Coming out this week - an in-depth tutorial on watercolor “X-Ray technique” featuring cyclamen flowers + butterflies. If you love extreme transparency effects or simply want to try a different stylistic approach to botanical art - I promise we’ll have a lot of fun. This style of painting is very unique to watercolor as we will practice transparent overlapping layers with lots of water and a limited palette. Other supporting techniques we will cover include lifting and wet-on-damp painting. The full painting is about 3 hours long, but, as always, I will provide a single-flower outline for those who are just starting with watercolors and want to tackle a smaller project 🩷 See you soon!

Thank you Anna! This will be a nice palate cleanser as I’m still working on the gorgeous king parrot/hibiscus pairing from your live Terracotta zoom 🫠
