Thank you! I'm not sure if you can address this tomorrow, but I do have one continuing issue as I follow your tutorials. My paint dries SO FAST. I use Arches 100% cotton and Qor synthetic ox gall in my water. I'm always amazed at how long your paint stays wet on the paper, for lifting, etc. With AC in the summer and heat in the winter, maybe the air is just always too dry (I live in Virginia). Or maybe I never use enough water.

Hi Anna, this sounds fab, I’ll certainly try to make it! And I have a question for you: I’m always fascinated by how you are able to continue adding colours over several minutes, creating such a rich and varied overall effect. My paints seem to dry too quickly for me to achieve a similar effect – unless I’m really quick. I keep wondering if I’m not controlling the water levels in my paints sufficiently, or should use different paper. I also saw that someone mentioned ox gall on a comment to you, and I read that that helps control paint dispersion – is that the key? I’d love it if you could speak about water and paper and drying times. Many thanks!

QUESTION: Is using a projector the only way to enlarge one of your pencil sketches from an 8.5 X 11 to a 12 X 12?

I’m very excited! I have to be at work at that time, but can I watch it afterwards? It’s hard to think of a question because you are so generous with your skills and instructions in your book and Patreon! I am trying to complete my go-to watercolor palette, leaning towards primarily Daniel Smith to replace my Winsor & Newton as needed (though I find I prefer W&N Indigo). Why do you choose QoR over DS on similar pigments? Also what is your favorite reliable lightfast pink when you’re not using opera pink?

Hi Anna, my question is regarding painting birds. I always find that the tiny strokes that I add to try and mimic feathers end up looking too graphic (too noticeable as strokes, of you get what I'm saying) while your feather-like strokes seem more natural. Is there any way to make those finishing strokes look less graphic?

There is probably a better way but roughly (I did this and it worked) Open Powerpoint: copy image onto powerpoint slide then grab picture and right click> click format size> change height and width (10x10 or 11x11 if you want a taped border). Line up the expanded image to the PP slide upper left corner and print. Do the same for all four corners, printing after each. Take printouts and piece together to match up the layers cutting away duplicate excess of overlays. Using least amount of tape, connect so that tape does not interfere with transfer. I would use graphite paper for transfer when using this method. It may seem like a PIA. But it is not as tedious as it sounds.

Can you talk about how you developed your personal style and chose colors for your palette?

I have a request. For your future tutorials, I would really like to see your brush to palette showing what you are meaning by watery pigment more saturated pigment because I believe this is crucial for the newer beginner watercolors like myself. Would really like to see what you’re talking about you putting your brush to your pallet when you’re grabbing your colors being more visual would help tremendously. Watching as many of your tutorials that I have, I know that this question has been asked before. Thank you

Hi Anna- I’m having trouble with my Patreon account. I’m guessing it’s because I started in the Cobalt Blue tier and needed to upgrade to a new tier. I checked with my both cc companies on the account and they haven’t blocked any payments. Anyway, I want to upgrade to the Emerald green tier and pay annually. Every other way I could find to contact you was blocked! Please help!!
