Hello everyone! I hope you are having a wonderful day:) I wanted to give you a quick preview of the white peony that you voted for as our next "White on White" tutorial. As you can see I am incorporating it into a larger composition (hence it's taking a bit longer), so we can explore other ways of painting white on white using color blocking. And of course I will do a separate tutorial on the colorful parrot!

I will also be incorporating this into an other video - all about how I built complex compositions  **spoiler - I am using the ancient principles of Chinese Gongbi painting- have you heard of this art style?**

See you all soon,

Anna

Stunning! Do I see a touch of dioxazine purple?

Anna Bucciarelli

Yes you are right!!! I don't think I did a single painting in the past year that didn't feature Dioxazine Purple in some way:))

Googled Chinese Gongbi. This started a chat with me and my son about of the "Great Wave" was created this way along with his other 35 in the series.

Ahh that sounds wonderful Rose! My boys are only interested in Lego and Minecraft - i wish i could share my art lessons with them but so far no enthusiasm :)))

Have you tried helping them design video game characters to get them interested in art? There are some good videos on YT and some exercises on Pinterest.
