UPDATE: Thank you all for your comments and suggestions - I really enjoy thinking through and designing these compositions together with you! It sounds like most of you are interested in seeing a leaf process / tutorial so I will definitely add the leaves. I've been slowly working on a separate tutorial on greenery, but it is truly a big subject I was struggling to fit into one video.... rose leaves would be a good start for us! I may do a tiiiiny white or yellow bird if I can fit her in, but the lesson will be all about the green leaves. Have a great week ahead!

Hi everyone! I just finished painting these roses for the upcoming tutorial on Watercolor reds 🌹 wondering if you would like to see some simple green leaves (I know many of you are interested in instructions for greenery) or something more dramatic like a yellow (or blue?) bird. Let me know what you think 😊 I will start editing the roses video in the meantime 💕

Leaves 🙂 thanks for asking for our input

Nancy Johnson

Hmmm I’d like to see a few leaves by the flowers and the rest out of focus leaves in the background. Hoping it would show depth and make the flowers pop? I’d love to see how you do it.

Melissa

I'd like to see dramatic.

Leslie Muennemann

Leaves are still a challenge and appear frequently.

Dana Oniga

Leaves and bird, if possible. The Roses are sooo lovely, Anna! ❤

leona

Leaves and bird Plessers 😀

Please

Caryn

I’ll feel like this is a stunning roses painting! It is so pretty and rich in pink and red pigments, and so romantic. I could connect this rose with a cup of French coffee, or some floating petals ❤️

Lise Bowles

Leaves are to predictable, I love the flowers as they are, dramatic and beautiful, no background or leaves. They just pop!

Laurie

What about an “abstract background with the yellow orange colors like they are laying on a table cloth?

Laurie

it is absolutely STUNNING❣️

Christine Kilger

Leaves but no bird is my wish! Maybe showing some in focus and some more in the background. Gorgeous!

Lisa Wornham

Just a few leaves in focus please. I do love the idea of the French coffee!

francisca

Background please, and the yellow bird with some rosebuds maybe , and leaves .

Julie Harp

Would love to see a bird:)

Alexandra May

Would love a leafy background thanks Anna. This is beautiful ❤️

Jojo

I always die on leaves hill xD leaves, please! (but I want birds too! ah!)

This is beautiful. I'd say with all the warm colors pushing forward the next step may be leave in negative painting, blues, blue greens and deep browns n maroon, transparent brown by Art Philosophy. It's got a lot of red in it. I think it is a great honor to offer a great artist such as yourself, advice on anything. You have honored me in asking my opinion.

Joana Mariano

No bird. Maybe the flowers can rest on a card or an envelope... A table... a suggestion of... leaves are too predictable. :) But any chooce will be an opportunity to learn so. All is well.

Anna Bucciarelli

I will definitely do leaves Jo! 💜 and will try to fit a small yellow or white bird :)))

Anna Bucciarelli

This sounds wonderful Caryn! Even if I don't do the coffee here (sounds like leaves are top of mind for tutorial topic based on the comments) , I will definitely keep it in mind for future paintings!

Anna Bucciarelli

Thank you! I 've been really enjoying community input via these polls :) It makes me feel less alone with my paints! I completely agree blue greens would work so well here!

Debra Broido

I can’t seem to find a link to the video. I can see all the supplies needed and the attachments. Maybe I am doing something wrong.

Anna Bucciarelli

Sorry I just saw your message Debra! I am glad you found it 😊
