Hi All! I was asked to post the outline + list of pigments ahead of the full May tutorial, so here it is! We are going to cover painting tropical greenery in-depth, including different color combinations and layering technique for three types of leaves. And - of course if you are up for it - paint a scarlet ibis hidden in the greenery:) The outline is posted below in JPG format, along with the pigment list.

MAIN PALETTE:

Quinacridone Coral DS. Alternative: Scarlett Lake W&N, Winsor Orange Red Shade W&N mixed with a bit of warm transparent red of your choice.

Permanent Alizarin Crimson. I am using one from QOR.

Indigo DS. Alternative: Indanthrone Blue from any brand.

Phthalo Turquoise. I am using one from QOR. Alternative: Aqua Green W&N

Phthalo Green Blue Shade. I am using one W&N. Alternative: Phthalo Green Yellow Shade from any brand.

Phthalo Yellow Green. I am using one from DS. Alternative: any transparent yellow, Green Gold from DS.

OPTIONAL:

Quinacridone Red. I am using one from QOR. Alternative: Any transparent medium red; for example Quinacridone Rose DS, Carmine DS etc.

Phthalo Blue Red Shade. I am using one from DS. Alternative: Phthalo Blue Green Shade, or any blue of your choice.

Hansa Yellow Deep DS. Alternative:  Diarylide Yellow QOR, or any warm orange-leaning yellow

Gold Ochre W&N. Alternative: any light ochre or mild warm yellow.

Why there is no ‘jaw-dropping’ emoji?🤯😍🤯😍

Nervous, excited and a bit intimidated. 😂 it’s gorgeous. Wow.

Thank you Shannon 💗 don't worry I will break it down so you can do 1 leaf at a time to practice, or combine into a larger composition. The whole purpose of this is to practice greenery so you can do just the monstera leaves as a stand alone or add a bird if you feel like it/ whenever you feel like it!

I’m SOOOO excited!!!! It’s absolutely beautiful!!! 💕💕💕

Vonda Sisson

This is absolutely gorgeous - the image has been transferred to watercolor paper and the pallet is prepared - looking forward to the challenge

Hi Anna. I have to use my phone and a very cheap printer to print the linework, but I can't enlarge the image. Would it be possible for you to send them as 2 or more a4 images that I can print separately if that doesn't involve too much work please? Xx

Loretta Headrick

Anna, will this tutorial be published this weekend of May 7?

Anna Bucciarelli

Please send me your email and I will email you the files 😊

Anna Bucciarelli

May 10 I will post the ibis, then the first set of leaves next weekend 😊 this is a long one - about 4+ hours!

Hi my email is alex.waterville@gmail.com, I hope that helps. Thank you so much for your help 😊 xx

I was looking forward to doing those Monstera leaves. But I can't reduce the outline to print on an 8.5X11.5. Hmm, I will try something else. ;-)

Hi Anna I just joined, and drew the image. I don’t know where to find your painting instructions… Annbenary @comcast.net

Hello. Is this something a student between beginner and intermediate could attempt?
