Sneak Peek: Upcoming Tutorials, Book & Old/New Outlines (Patreon)
Content
Hello everyone and Happy Friday! I wanted to thank you all for your beautiful paintings based on the recent tutorials, share a few snapshots of the upcoming compositions, and a few other updates {book! there is a watercolor book in the works!}:
> Glowing rose is almost complete and 1st chapter is coming your way next week! Lots of interesting techniques combined in 5 layers, the key learnings we'll focus on is painting "glow" and softening the edges to create atmospheric depth.
> I also finished a vegetable "salad" study and will make a tutorial out of it later in July. I will have to re-paint it from scratch to simplify the parsley leafs and make a less "heavy" more subtle background but the rest is a lot of fun - ESPECIALLY Broccoli which we will use real salt for:) Huge thank you to Franco who'se recent post of beautiful red onions on our Facebook group has inspired this theme!
> There's been some renewed interest in an older tutorial featuring a parrot and white Peony flower; although the original video focused only on the flower and "painting white" techniques, there has been lots of requests for a full composition outline - happy to report I made one and it's been posted here: https://www.patreon.com/posts/white-peony-pt-1-55331565 ***As you know, some of my early tutorials from the 1st year on Patreon were created using limited video equipment. With your support, I've been able to gradually upgrade by tools, particularly storage and now record my intricate compositions in full. BUt happy to provide full outline if you want to tackle this in full. Thank you all for your continued support!
> I will be answering your comments and direct messages all day today - as some of you may have seen from the recent welcome note, I plan on answering messages once a week on Fridays going forward. I am delighted to see our group grow, but also finding it increasingly difficult to manage the filming / editing / painting and related communications on my own. On a related note, I am actively searching for a Social Media manager / video editor, being realistic about the growing demands of the channel.
> Lastly, for everyone who's been asking about a watercolor book... it's now officially in the works! I's been approached by a few publishers recently and found the one I liked:) My goal is to make something inspiring and FULL of useful practical info for you all {not just another flower book}, with some related video content to enhance the overall learning experience. Although this will take some time, you will start seeing videos featuring the topics from the book sections in the upcoming months. This is all I can say for now:) Stay tuned!
Thank you all as always for your support. Hope you are having a beautiful summer and I will be back early next week with a glowing rose tutorial
