For those who have not checked the edits in the previous chapter I recommend doing so - the difference is most significant in Rhaena's PoV, at least towards the end (nothing beyond Jon and Rhaena's relationship had changed, of course)Anyway, this chapter is a bit long. A tad unedited, but I'm rather happy with how it came out. You can read the previous chapters in the collection.

MehOhWell

It's always entertaining to see Rhaenyra double down on her fuck ups. Also, Corlys proves himself as much a snake as always, though in this case I can't say I fully blame him. Can't wait for Jon to just fucking slaughter everyone and at this stage... I suppose take the throne unless Viserys is alive.

"It's treason then" - Jon Palpatine

Kobe Robertson

Is how everything went down so far cannon or is it slightly different I mean the stuff Jon isn’t involved in

Brewt

Jon delayed so much he's ended up being forced into picking a side, that seems in character, though I can't recall if that's canon or i'm getting mixed up with fanfiction. It's a very different world now with all the changes, though whoever ends up overlord of the Riverlands might be able to make something of it if they're one of the greater houses rather than the Tullys. Great read as always.

Lucion

Well, we're finally here. Hope Jon turns Hightower to ground-tower.

LordApathy

Great chapter. I was hopeful that Jon would get involved in the war and interact with all the characters we know and love but this has been a really nice change of pace. The changes to the time line makes sense and have kept things interesting. Don't they know better than to mess with Jon? He is the Senate after all.

khalid musadak

The I don’t want it while brooding is getting old… I don’t get your Jon snow

VishihaHitachi

Might as well call Aegon the second , Aegon the lucky or maybe the unlucky He survive to rule another day just to his bride to be to escape Yeah i don’t think this time Colyn will live as long as canon Alyns become Nettle By the time Creagan Stark reach Kingslanding will he have to take it or walk in like he own the place

Bantoo

"IT'S TREASON, THEN." Jon then screaches as he spins through the air, killing all but one of them to then go on and tell others of the deed. Here's hoping he comes out of this not looking like a scrotum xD

Omar Syed

Again?!!! The Old Gods damn you GaladiusX!!! Not saying I saying I didn't enjoy the chapter. Already knew some of what would happen, if not how, and some of it was an outright surprise. But that cliffhanger was evil and you know it.

Bishop7053

Wow those guards at the end are fucking stupid. Try and steal from the man who killed a dragon. Alone. Just greed filled suicide there. Huh guess rhaegars visions from the future we're true. Jon, baela and rhaela, dragon will have three heads, Jon takes the throne with a pair of wives who are sisters. Get ya murder on Jon fuck the history books

TyrantGod

Firstly, I am glad they show the fuckups by both sides. Lot of fics showing Rhaenyra as girl boss which is not true if you follow GRRM canon. Both side B&G were just power hungry and no good vs evil about it. It was about politics same as real world like War of Roses, Sengoku Era, China 3 Kingdom Era etc. Trying to impose modern sensibilities to ancient era will lead only to heartburns. I see Jon Rhaena pairing but how about Baela Cregan pairing. Depending on Cregan’s age. Also can’t wait for Cregan & Jon to meet! Wish Ghost was there with Jon to make more of an impact. How many more chapters are you planning for this fic?

Maurogatos

Good chapter but I can not understand something!! With all the black dead so fast are you end the story soon ?? Hope not , hope this is a story about Jon vs the greens now or something like that and not end after 10 chapters !! This story is so Au right now . Hope Jon start getting active and stop being passive like that , he change the whole history of Westeros like it or not !! I believe even with the blacks dead this story has a lot to give

Myrdin

It is very disappointing that the Dance is almost over and Jon did nothing but sit on his ass and brood for the whole time

ThatGuy

The ending sapped my enjoyment. You could have just stopped at when Jon decided to honor guest right. Instead your making us wait a week for a fight that will never live up to our expectations. Fuck I haven't been annoyed like this in months by a story. Also, hack writing at the end, really hack. Star Wars meme is so outdated Grandfathers understand it, and now it's the only thing everyone will remember. You already see it in comments, so great job minimalizing your own writing I guess.

ParaPhone

That was such a great chapter. Hate the cliffhanger but god damn.

stevem1

Jon channels his inner Palpatine, “It’s treason, then!” Jon declared, drawing Skyfall and leaping into the snow. Which is completely awesome. I felt bad for Caraxes. He’s regressed to one of his distant ancestors, a wingless worm. Or are dragons like lizards and salamanders and able to regrow amputated appendages? I’m still rooting for Daemon’s survival, even if he’s a bit worse for the wear like Caraxes. Baela and Rhaena showing themselves as Daemon’s daughters and acting was a very nice touch. I’d guess they are going to be demonstrating even more of it when they begin purging traitors, assuming they’re ever able to gain the upper hand. Looking forward to the next chapter. This is like a crack habit.

Corlys

Man this one is a cruel cliffhanger lol

Grimgoth

"Accidental Cliffhanger..." my ass...we know you ;) The name of the next chapter should be, "Winter Has Come," opening with the slaughter of 15 brave...idiots? Daemon, in heaven or hell (let's be honest, more likely), wherever he is, will definitely be amused if he sees it from there. My estimate that Caraxes would survive with a 10% chance (for a while) was apparently too low, and Daemon is unreliable in his unpredictability and has taken a healing bath with him. The Sea Snake fucks it up, his granddaughters most likely won't protect him when Jon comes to bear grudges, the North remembers. That could also be the only reason why the Nord troops are still on the move, according to all information that Cregan (probably) has the Blacks are finished. He'll be surprised when he suddenly learns that his (unwanted) kinsman is causing trouble for the Greens. I wouldn't be surprised if Jon ends up naming him as Hand...so that at least a little bit of the old time line is preserved. Good chapter as always, can't wait for Mr. Bronze to get involved.

John

Great chapter. This has been a great showcase for all the people complaining he should join a side. Rhaenyra somehow turned a medieval city into a late stage capitalist hell hole where all the basic necessities to survive are taxed so heavily the majority essentially are being priced out of being able to survive. And Aemond the little sociopath just lops the head of a 10 year old off. These are the people they want Jon to follow lol. I wonder if Rhaena and Jon is still a viable option, they still have care for each other but she's got a major chip on her shoulder now about the rejection and him not helping. Her and Baela need grow up a bit since their first thought on someone giving a minor rejection is to burn their home and livelihood down. That or they'll end up like their step mother shanked by the people they've spent their whole lives looking down on.

deinekes9

Once word gets out about how Jon went full northman over guest rights to a female nighttime winter storm refugee, not even counting Rhaena as a princess, Cregan and the northern army will all be shouting "One of us! One of us!" But does Jon actually know about everyone thinking he's Vizzy T's not-so-secret love child? Does he even know that he's going to be forced by circumstances of him saving Rhaena to claim the iron throne at this point? At least it's mostly an equal dragon fight. Jon/vermithor vs Aemond/vhagar. Rhaena/Silverwing vs Silver Denys/seasmoke. And Baela/Moondancer vs Aegon/sunfyre. The strengths, experience, and handicaps mostly balance out.

Lotus92

That scene at the end with the spear throw was Jon channeling his inner achilles. The people of this world don't quite understand yet what fighting a dragon-blooded warrior actually means but they will realise very soon.

Hex

I mean, based off the feats of previous dragonslayers (no idea about Planetos ones but Siegfried/Sigurd were rather impressive from the old legends), just blatantly walking up to his stuff and taking it seems more than a bit stupid. Laws are only as strong as the ones upholding them, and when you're a medieval knight against a guy whose body can't be harmed by normal weapons, you're just asking to be smashed aside. Personally, you're version of Jon has been showing clear signs of depression, while still maintaining the manners and honor he was raised to uphold by Ned Stark. He's clearly making reasons to not do anything (lethargy from traumatic events), uncaring of people who claim he has a stake in this war when he actually doesn't (avoidance of others/isolation), and is focused on just being a fisherman (overworking, or at least trying to). Even his opinion that none of his efforts would matter is a clear sign of the hopelessness he faced against the others and the meteor. Hope he gets better, a pretty Valyrian woman (or maybe even 2) should hopefully do so.

Maniac000

I’m curious, clearly what happened with Jon’s body after consuming dragon flesh is out of the ordinary even for Valyrian’s otherwise Valyria would’ve been known for its godlike warriors as much as their dragons. So, clearly Jon has something else going on specifically with him. I wonder if it’s the way he went about killing Cannibal? The guy who killed Caraxes using poisoned sheep would be considered cowardly and died after eating the flesh but Jon fought face to face with Cannibal with a sword. Maybe that bravery before a dragon invoked some kind of magic that allowed him to eat the dragon flesh and gain magical benefits? Anywho, NOOO not Aegon Dragonsbane!? How will Westeros get by without its favorite depression king!? I guess you can either have Viserys still alive and become king or Jon acts as Baela/Rhaena’s protectors if one of them becomes queen.

Pearl of the Orient

You first barge into my land unannounced, steal my spoils, and spit on my declaration of Guest Rights? It seems I must teach you to respect the old ways,” Jon said darkly, squeezing the shaft of one of the spears looted from the Silent Five. Sounds better if you wrote it this way, along with capitalization of the names of the Rites of Hospitality and the Old Ways: You tread upon my land unannounced, uninvited, steal my hoard and spit upon my declaration of Hospitality and Guest Right? It seems I must teach you to respect the Old Ways." John spoke darkly, squeezing the shaft of a spear looted from the Silent Five.

Sif

I could see this ending like the Riddick movie, Jon sitting down accidentally upon a throne and being made King over the corpse of Aemond or Aegon II.

Alexander

Why do I get the feeling that Jon and the twins are going to form a new triumvirate like Aegon I/Rhaenys/Visenya

Asharzal

Wow, Rhaenyra had quite the anti-climactic ending. And here I thought she would share Mysaria's fate, guess she was lucky in merely getting beheaded then.

Rhett Sellers

It's treason, then... - said an old man somewhere.

Alex Taute

What is the point of this story everyone just keeps dying this sucks im dissepointed I paid for this jon is cool but does nothing why this sucks why do you like the greens so much
