The chapter is a bit late, but I'm overall satisfied with it. The editor went to sleep, so the last scene might be a bit... raw. Not too raw. I'm mostly happy, but not fully, with how this one went. Let me know what you think in the comments. You can read the previous chapters in the collection.

Ah man great chapter, you know there are great fanfictions out there some rare few as good as the ones Gladius writes. But the number of authors out there with the ability to close a story satisfyingly is vanishingly small. My only regret is that Jon did not bite the bullet and wed both dragon ladies. Moondancer died to keep this story monogamous :(

Just a random thought that’s probably never gonna be answered but is Jon’s home timeline screwed? Seems like his vision of Stannis and Rhaegar has some truth to it, but with no dragons or Jon are they just going to be a version of the timeline that lost to the others?

Jon not killing one but two big ass dragons. His poor descendants will likely no chance to ever compare to him. Its Agon the Dragon all over again with his descendants chasing a fraction of his achievements

I wonder if Jon will be honest about the fight. Saying “my dragon ate me just a little bit” is orders of magnitude less epic than just letting everyone think he did some incredible mid-air acrobatics or got saved by the gods or something.

The battle was excellent. A more intelligent variant of what Daemon did to Aemond. Not counting the tongue cleaning/lashing Vermithor gave him. Which almost seems like he’s treating Jon like a little dragonling, in need of being cleaned up and lectured after a mess. The interaction with Jeyne Arryn was spot on. I loved Jon’s interactions with Jaehaera and his plans with Viserys. If they come to fruition, his children will have maybe three families to chose to marry into [Stark, Targaryen, Velaryon], four if you count the Baratheons. Who needs sibling marriage when there are lot of cousins about.

I really really want to see Aemond’s pov during the fight. I can imagine him starting the fight supremely confident in his victory because he’s got the bigger dragon and he’s more experienced flying one, not knowing Jon has warg/skinchanger hax on his side. Then he loses confidence when Jon starts throwing javelins, before he shits himself when he realizes Jon is right behind him on Vhagar chopping his dragon’s wing.

Going to need some pov chaps of Jon’s accomplishments. Only dude in history to slay two dragons. Also dude going down in history as the most badass Targaryen. Also love he put Jeyne in her place. Such a cocky ass person with no plans for the future.
