Okay, this is late (not too late), but the chapter is big. The chapter is huge in ways different from its size, too.

Anyway, the climax for year three is finally here. Many plots culminate in this chapter, and probably some of you saw some of the events from afar. Others might be a tad surprised. Regardless, let me know what you think in the comments.

I honestly did not see that coming, even with all the subtle and not-so-subtle changes to the timeline that we've already seen. Lupin has always been a useless lump, but this might be the first time I've seen him actively betray Harry. Or at least, it's the first time when it wasn't betraying him to an evil version of Dumbledore from a cliched bashing fic. Honestly, I don't think Harry should even be the one to hunt him down. In this timeline, Harry neither knows nor cares about the man. Sirius is the one with a real bone to pick. Time for Lupin to get the Wormtail treatment...

This chapter was a banger. I do have one question - did Greyback buy it along with the other Death Eaters? The last mention of him was pushing Bellatrix away from Harry. I'm guessing he is probably gone too, but you can never quite be sure until it's announced "on screen."

This was an amazing chapter and I genuinely didn’t see the twist with Lupin coming. I wonder how much Estelle was a Chekov’s smokescreen meant to draw reader attention away from his son.

Wow, what an awesome chapter! And Lupin's betrayal is definetely a surprise! Can't wait to see Dumbledore's reaction about the animagus form and Sirius reaction to the betrayal.

Aha! My paranoia of Lupin paid off. No surprises for me this time! Well, at least related to that. It was surprising to see the animagus payoff so soon, but enjoyable nonetheless. The signs of Lupin's true allegiances were there for those that had the eyes to see, but one can never be entirely sure with fanfiction (in general) if its subtle, well written clues, or just accidental (or intentional) red herrings or even where the author changed an idea but edited the story poorly. Thankfully I dont have to worry about that last one here. This one definitely was enjoyable to figure out beforehand. For those curious, it was the timing of Lupin's return (when Greyback's pack did), along with the mention of his wife's scar, and why Lupin was reticent on the matter of his wife and child that clued me in.

Harry’s father really didn’t know how to pick friends, did he? Lupin’s betrayal is a very nice touch, completely consistent with his history. Lupin’s been avoiding Harry because he needed to be prepared to betray Harry. And I love the transformation of Harry into animagus powerhouse. I assume that his snake has been integrated into his person, given the nature of his transformation. I wonder if he will still need a wand, since apparently he doesn’t have that at hand either. Maybe that also got absorbed into his Phoenix form?

Well some of my predictions were waaay off. One other I am still hoping for but it seems unlikely. Still, I really enjoyed this chapter. Hope these downsides are more in the line of a smart enemy can combat what Harry does and not vulnerabilities that nerf Harry. Also I suspect the next month or so is going to be needed for recovery because both Harry and Juno have been knocked down a peg. Maybe Harry decides if he is a phoenix he'll bond with Juno to always be able to get to her?
