📆 Story Output Change and August Schedule (Patreon)

Hey everyone,

I’m making a small but important adjustment to the release schedule and story output.

With my ongoing shoulder recovery, and the lingering numbness in my arm, I’ve been having to write in shorter sessions, but each and every day. I’ve actually been really enjoying the stories and the writing sessions themselves these past few weeks… but with the shorter time I can spend writing in one sitting, added with the days where I have limited feeling in my arm and fingers, it's tougher to keep things on track.

To give myself a more realistic schedule, I’m moving from a 5-day cycle to a 6-day cycle. From now on, story updates will land on the 6th, 12th, 18th, 24th and 30th of each month.

That’s one fewer story update per month, so that gives me a far more manageable schedule, and a little better balance between writing and resting my arm. Each one of our story updates are almost always in the 20–25k word range, and so I hope that this still feels like solid value for your subscription. ❤️

The Google Drive will continue with two releases a month, but now on the fixed dates: the 6th and the 24th.

✍️ Member Stories

My goal with these is still to write them as single 20–25k one part stories, whenever possible. But recently I have been letting things escalate a little, and sometimes once I’m 10k words into writing them, I realise the story needs a bit more room, so they might occasionally become two-parters, as has been the case with Tom's Bet and The Transfer Student.

Talking about member stories... We’ll be opening a fresh batch of member story pitches and polls in August. For those of you who are fairly new here, everyone has the chance to pitch one story idea into this competition, your story will go up against 3 others in a poll, and the winner from each poll will be written by me as a 1 part 20K-25K word story. If you go to the collections tab, and 'Member Stories Written By Me', you can see the collection of our previous winning stories that have become a huge part of our page here, with some of the hottest stories I've written(with the help and inspiration of the those who pitched them).

So if you have some story ideas you'd like to see, start thinking about your favourite one and your story pitch, and look out for my post in a week or two with the instructions on how to enter it.😈
