I had to pull some clips from an episode of TNG for this Moonfall video (this is actually Jay searching through the episode, not Mike believe it or not) and happened to pause the episode at a great moment.

One of my all-time favorite episodes.

His eyes look deader than ever.

CSL

My buddies and I back in DVD quality control used to call this “poop face”.

Spending a century in an outdated transporter beam-pattern backup will do that to you.

One day, Jay... one day you will watch TNG... and then... you will join us... be one of us... one of us. One of us.

The arm sling looks extremely technologically advanced.

Prof Frink voice: James Doo-HAY-ven

Analog Pill

Surely you can find a place to use this amazing still

Bill Wilson

Is this "Through Dead Eyes"' James Doohan (James Fredericks from "Through Dead Eyes")?

hamish smith

The dynamic of Mike and Rich being massive star trek nerds and Jay not being a star trek nerd is great for content

Nonsensei

Through Derp Eyes

Frazzled Doo

He’d fashioned a sling outafa’ RedShirt!? ⛑🧣

"Laddie, I was drinking Scotch a hundred years before you were born. And I can tell you that whatever this is, it is definitely not Scotch."

Lianne Lairmore

Mike is tricking you into watching TNG by making you edit videos he brings up star trek

William Horse

Little known fact, at this point in his life they had to suspend J.D. from the ceiling to compete with his weakening knees. We have a shot here where he appears to be drifting off just a *little* during shooting

How would Jay know how to navigate through the labyrinthian pathways of Star Trek? Needle in a quadrant for THAT guy! :D

This is the scene where Jordi keep hitting Scotty's fucked up arm over and over. Thank you for your work. Moonfall was really fucking bad. They even left in a mispronounced word said by a super intelligent computer construct. Cant wait for the mocking of this "film."

DonMac

Way way way off topic, but I'm surprised RLM didn't re:View the 1966 "Batman: The Movie" to counter "The Batman" opening. Rarely get chances to do that sync. (Just a random thought.)

I just watched the Through “Doohan’s” Eye’s BOTW episode today. Still might be my favorite episode 😂

Alex Socarras

Love these candid snaps of David Carradine.

I appreciate Jay for being this accurate, because at the end of his life, that was in fact how James Doohan signed his name. Or at least, that's how most people interpreted it. His handwriting was all squiggles by that point. The withdrawal tremors really got to him eventually.

FredDenza

Mike saw Jay pulling clips of Scotty from Star Trek and was like what are you doohan here

Manuel Johnen

... ... ...what "great" moment? :/

"Oops! I crapped my pants!" (...yep, an SNL reference)

This is a cute episode of TNG, but poor Jimmy D. seemed so out of sorts by this point. There's this bizarre line read, where he staggers into the transporter room to go do some work on the Jenolan with Geordi, and he's all hungover from polishing off that bottle of Aldeberan whiskey the night before. Geordi asks him if he's okay, and Scotty goes "Never get drunk unless you're willing to pay for it. The next day." Like, I don't think he needed to break that up like that. It was a real "PART TIME" kind of line read, and I so wish they'd had another take. It really took me out of the scene, and made things really awkward. On closer review, it looked like Doohan was actually having a pretty hard time with his lines throughout the rest of the episode too. He breaks his eye lines a lot and keeps staring up into space or over his scene partners' shoulders. "Relics" was a nice swan song for a classic character, but it's pretty sad to have seen time catching up with the once-rakish and sparkly eyed James Doohan.
